Hi all, hope everyone is well. I'm trying to get some rebuild kits for my twin carbs that have Solex 40/44 EIS stamped on the side of them.
They only seem to be available from the US. Solex kits in other sizes are available over here ,will they fit?
thanks for any help Les

engine size is the important part and if you can get smaller choke tubes if required

I also run twin Solex 49/44 EIS. Yes only the USA as far as I'm aware for spares.
Used Kaddieshack in the past. AJ Sims(Lowbugget) is another. Watch out for custom charges, I've been stung in the past.
Throttle body air leaks can be an issue.
Think Flags on here is another Kadron man.

VW Heritage sell the kits for the 40/44 Kadron/empi carbs, so these should fit but you could ring them to confirm. The thing is though, they are £42.95 per carb and on Ebay they are selling a pair from USA for £43.43 plus £14.82 postage. Someone else might be able to tell you where you could get a set over here

As I said previously. Make sure your throttle bodies aren't leaking. If they they are you are wasting your time.
Just saying.
