Running a 1600 twin 40 kadrons, only way I can get it started is with Easy start squirted down each carb, but once its started its fine and runs very smooth and nice. but if I leave it to cool down completely i need the Easy start again.
Changed the spark plugs, changed the fuel,
Any ideas? was thinking maybe the carbs are running to lean and need that extra engine start to get them going?
confusing the crap out of me at the moment

Thank you in advance, FYI was running totally fine last year. left it over the winter months and now this

if you are in the area, pop in for a cuppa.Thats if i am in and out playing Taxi for the Kids

Have you cleaned out the old fuel in the carbs as that could easily have turned to 'jelly' if left for months. Ie it won't flow through and away under normal use.

To start an engine with these carbs, you need to prod the throttle 2 or 3 times before you turn the engine over. This squirts petrol down the center of the carbs. As you say it was alright last year, I would say the accelerator diaphragms have gone hard or split with the modern petrol or the gravity controlled ball bearing one way flow valves have stuck.

So what you need to do is take your air filters off And look down the throats of the carbs as you open the throttles. You should see a nice squirt of petrol being put down the carbs. Also check to see if the little brass pipe that the petrol comes out of, is aimed nicely down the carb and not hitting the sides or the throttle spindle. Any way check this and then report back lol
