Any tips. I knowmycolumn is from a Seat(VW) around1996. Any tips on the forward, or am I barking up a dark alley.

This shouldn`t be difficult.   Trawl the likes of Motorsport outlets and I suppose fleabay.

Plenty of removable bosses, FIA approved, and otherwise. There will be means to drill your own pcd holes to match your steering wheel or maybe said pcd is common. I havn`t used one for may years now but I would say make sure it is of "decent" origin.
