Nice thought Keith. I haven't got the passes yet - which are free - I then can buy a block of tickets for those that don't want to pay on the day (£5 more) or fiddle about paying early.

This is the response I got a month ago.

'Hey there
Thank you for booking your club into Retro Rides Gathering 2018, the details we have are:
Name: Midland Buggy Club
Size: 10
We will be followign up later in the year to confirm numbers
Thank you for booking in to Retro Rides Gathering 2018'

I'm going to chase them up in 2 weeks if I haven't heard so I can tell you where we are at the next MBC meeting.

The longer they take to send the passes the more time it gives me to possibly bump up the number I want if more than 10 are interested...

I've chased up Retro Rides re wanting passes before buying reduced price (£10) tickets and they say:

'Passes will be out probably towards the end of this month.  You are 100% garanteed a stand so very safe to buy tickets.'

So on Thursday I'll be asking MBC members if they'd like me to get them tickets (need one per person) or will they do their own thing.

Keith they are playing brinkmanship viz they said tickets should be sent out towards the end of this month.

I guess it's how folk in Worcestershire do things!

I'll chase on 1st August if I've still not heard.

From last year, they are busy and rushing around... tickets arrive a week or two before

It's nothing sinister, just organised by few people who also have jobs etc

But a really nice show, my favourite of last year

John that's helpful to know about the admin and enjoy-ability of the event.

It'll be great to watch you nip up the hill.

Retro Rides have issued the tickets (we're in the 900's so looks like there will be absolute minimum of 1000 people there...) but say that the Passes will be printed by this weekend then sent out.

So I'll probably simply end up meeting you all as you come in on the Worcester/Martley side - probably at a small lay by a couple of miles before the event - to hand out Passes & tickets.

The organisers asked how much space we needed* and after asking two gurus of buggy events I requested enough to include some sitting/pavilion space. Luckily my calculations based on modest sized buggys resulted in the organisers saying they'd give me slightly more:

'We do our stands as cars being 4m x 4m ... and cars are placed in rows, there is an 8m road way between stands so cars get to poke out a little bit into that too.

You'll get a 48m x 4m stand.

Picture this : https://d2dkhc8s6a2pc4.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/005-3.jpg ... but with bright sunshine and awesome buggys'

* I've asked for 12 Passes so lets try and get at least two more buggys to help bulk out the long strip ! (Keith you have first call on Pass 11 if you and Vicky want to rock up in 2 buggys).

If more want to come then I should be able to ask for a few more Passes and we can shuffle a few pairs of buggys cheek by jowl so they are less exposed to walkers by ? We'll still need some people on our pitch to 'watch' the admirers walking down the 8m gap/row.

The Jas has only has Jaguar XJ6, MGB, Morris 1000, Rover 100, Vauxhall Cresta, Ford Escort and Mazda Mx5 parts fitted so it is fine ;D

Oh dear I hadn't realised this.....but Vicky brings such a warm inclusive personality plus rocky road type extras so we can overlook a few trivial 'variants' !

Pas number 12 is yours.
