Evenin folks.
i vaguely remember reading a while ago about some problems with wiper arms not fitting against the screen properly (those with the all in one bonett/screen) something to do with the screen angle vs the positioning of the vw wiper motor/spindles? whilst doing my body prep i noticed some indentations from the area where spindles come through the bonett, so it looks to me like there was too much pressure from the arms on the screen forcing the washers for the spindles back into the bodywork, obviously i dont want that hapening again so did anyone have a home made solution or a different manufacture to pick some new better fitting ones from?

Damage around the spindles is over tightening the nuts without the rubber washers or not putting a brace onto the motor to support the weight.

i've replaced the spindles already as the threads were damaged by the nuts - the only support this motor has is when locking the spindles down after passing through the body, so are you suggesting i fab up some sort of bracket to take the weight off the motor
this is the only pic i can find of the old spindles in place,

notice how the bottom of the washer has dug in deeper into the body than the top of the washer, ive asumed this has happend due to presure from the spring in the wiper arm against the angle its used on the windscreen not the weight of the motor pulling it down,, maybe a factor of both?

With a solid flatwasher and no compressable washer with fibreglass not being a uniform thickness you will get pressure points causing the damage when doing the nut up tight.
A motor support will stop flexing.
