My 1st car! past my test and did 3! years on and off,Of fun driving!,,,A wheel come off the engine sh@t the bed, and floor was just rust,,I put a jacket over the engine one night come out the pub and I was not thinking and the fan had it ::) ,pad £150 for a 1.6? engine that was a mix of B&P so was a 15!!cc and so on but for 18?years It's been on the shed roof and is in a bad :'( way, I was going sell it but I can not let it go, So it's time to build a turbo Rat I got lots of bits, Just going to see, It may end up in the bin!

It would be good to save the old rat shell and easier if you did not go for buildsing a shiney buggy but a rat look rat buggy. Keep us posted on theprogress.

What a great or rather extreme place to start - with it almost looking like a tree is growing through the abandoned weed covered shell....but plenty of tread on that one rear tyre and I love the Union flag hand giving the 2 fingers salute....takes me right back to the 70s !

With the advice and support of this forum you can't fail, but good luck just the same.

Now that's a project! Shame not to keep the registration somehow. I would think the value of that alone would finance a rebuild  ;)
Who needs prozac when you can drive a buggy?

I'm always a little sad to see a rat have the front end cut about - the headlights was the unique feature on them. That said, better to save it than it get trashed completely.
