Hello all - wanted one for years and now finally got round to saving a few g's so going to bite the bullet. Looking to buy asap

I own a VW Bay window already so have some exposure to the fun and games ahead.

My hard budget is 5k not a penny more - Looking for LWB (as I 6ft 3) and with wet weather gear as well.  Any one know of something for sale? I am based in Surrey and wouldnt be able to contemplate too far afield.

Thanks in advance

Andy

Welcome Andy.

You're well placed for some other local buggys and I'm sure pointers/steers for buying a buggy will be along very soon.

Welcome to the forum.

I know of a SWB with wet weather gear for about £6 K in the Midlands - so completely opposite to what you are after  ;)

Good luck with the hunt.

I pm him today but have 2 others have shortlisted.  I like Poachers a lot and know I would treat it well (I own a 1978 Bay window and have done since 2006).  However it is above my price range so will hopefully hear from him shortly before I have to go with one of the other 2.

Thanks everyone

Andy

So I bought one... despite wanting a LWB with rain cover I got a SWB without... lol

Hope to post some pictures soon.  Its just failed on a few minor things on the MOT so will be getting them sorted for the retest. rear mirror not fixed, battery not fixed and a bearing that needs replacing

I dont like the seats and the brake pedal is too high so may need to swap that out.  Not sure if the pedal assembly is a complete unit and where to look.  any pointers please.

happy days!

Yes happy days indeed.

And changes, adjustments and tinkering is all part of the daily running of most buggys...

Indeed - looking forward to getting the small adjustments done so can enjoy some local adventures in it.  Thinking of adding a fuel gauge too (ran out of fuel this morning as forgot to check the levels)
