I think that the test is more concerned with the construction, mounting and location of the fuel tank, rather than the shape and alterations but I'm sure those that actually read the instructions will be along with some accurate info soon.

just one point though,

I dont think you need outrigger wheels on the buggy as it should usually have one wheel in each corner

Hi, I've not read this thread in full, so please excuse me if I'm covering old ground.
I'm pretty sure you'll need some sort of guard over or beside those toggle switches on the dash to make them IVA compliant.
Sure I read something in the Car Builder Solutions catalogue about it. They were trying to sell some 'D' shaped chrome bars for the purpose of overcoming that issue.

Take a look at the manual... There is an exclusion zone of a specific diameter greater than the diameter of the steering wheel. Any switch, bolt head or other fixing behind this additional diameter is not "cone tested or radius tested" and is ok as long as it does not obstruct vision to speedo. Immediately outside this diameter... any switch, fixing or any other item proud of the mounting surface is subject to the relevant "radius" check. All must comply 100%. Gauges are used by the examiner. You can fit toggle switches but you need a metal hoop at each side of each switch no exception to this at all. There is a picture in car builder solutions of their workaround. 

(The radius checks are comprehensive to the extreme.. Another example ... dashboard bottom immediately above knee position.. also must comply to the exact quoted radius).

Ha yes. The buggy is sitting on a movable trolley I made.

All the switches is within that exclusion zone so I'm hoping these will be ok without any hoopes.

I'm going to dig out some pictures and list them in members buggy.

I've fabricated my own windscreen frame out of 2 x 1 steel box, so today I've sprayed it with some super etch primer.
