Beach Buggy General Help / Brakes

Hi, I have converted my drum brakes on front to disc but it has made the peddle very soft and a lot of travel to brake, would the master cylinder need an up grade, I have drum on the back, would it be a mix of both systems why it's seems to be not working ok, any advise would be great.

Beach Buggy General Help / carb

Hi All
I have upgraded my bug from 1300 to 1600 twin port my problem is I had the engine all chromed and the issue is the throttle cable comes throuh at an angle from the fan shroud, i have a twin choke webber fitted and the cable is under strain to the carb and does not give free movement, is there an attacment that can be added to the throttle arm that drops down so to give a stright pull movemnet and not under tension, if anyone has had an issue like this could you post a photo how to get over this.

Beach Buggy General Help / Re: measurement

Thanks Paul for your help but after looking at the space and not wanting to cut the body to make this engine fit I will have to pass on this one and wait for the next offer of a 1641 to come along, probably look for a single carb option.

Beach Buggy General Help / measurement

Hi All
Have seen a 1641 with twin solex 40 carbs for sale on a web site but don't know if it will fit my fab rat buggy, my question is what is the length of the twin port plus carbs, and the smallest of air filter I can purchase.

Had the engine rebuilt about 4 years ago but not happy with the outcome still have a bit of end float with small oil leak nothing to mention, as for condition all good runs well but would like something with more horse power, not an option for rebuild with the end float, thats why I thought about a long block and fit my bits and pieces.

Hi I am also looking to upgrade my engine, running a t/p 1300 1971 with a 200m clutch, looking for a 1600 or 1641, any recommendations on purchase or do I go down the long block and put my own bit on any advice much appreciated.

Beach Buggy General Help / Re: Fuel
December 05, 2017, 05:57:29 PM
I found that one of the jets was blocked, cleaned out ran for a short time ok, then when went out for a drive started up tick over ok, then when I drove off, foot down, drove like only on 2 cylinders struggling to pull as if fuel was not getting through, have checked for blockage ok, forgot to mention have electronic ignition, thought about going back to points to see if this was a cause.

Beach Buggy General Help / Fuel
December 04, 2017, 06:19:02 PM
I have had a lot of trouble with my 1300 not running smoothly and a mate has said that he has heard of a bad rusted fuel tank can cause the fuel to be weakened just wondering if its a myth or it doe's weaken the fuel, I have filters in line.
