dam wish id have read this b4 lol ,, was giving the buggy a once over yesterday ,,after a drive out and spotted the same thing only off side was sat on the bump stop and nearside has  about a 10-15 mm gap ,,so I just ordered new shocks all round off gsf ,, a good deal on at the mo ,, ;-)up  as the shocks that are on it are the ones off the donor car so  I was guessing worn out   ,,,, so hope it cures it  ???

Beach Buggy Engine and Exhaust Help / engine input
September 21, 2014, 05:46:22 PM
ok guys n gurls ,, as im sure in the past you've read about me rattling on about a turbo engine  in one form or another ,, well the time for me to start has come ,, I pick up me engine case soon from the machine shop in the next week or so ,, and the fun begins  ??? ive done my homework and I think ive sorted out a list most of the bits I need ,, but  I could do with you thorts on anything that will help me with the build ,im not building an engine  to do the quarter mile just an engine to give it a lil bit more of the fun factor  ;-)up, ok list of parts im about to sorce are ,,,

as41 case , cut for 1776,, full flow

crank forged ,, cb 4140  69mm  or ssp 4140 69mm ,, what would be better ??

cam ,, an engle  TCS10 for a turbo ,,  any one used these ?? are they ok ??

valve train ,,scat 1.1  ,,for use with turbo cam  or again is there better ??

pistons n cylinders,, mahle  or  AA   ?? are AA pistons and cylinders any good????

pushrods c/moly ,,

conrods ,, std balanced vw ones  ,, would these be strong enough for the job ??

Kennedy clutch n plate ,

am also thinking of cb 044 heads ,, or would I get away with , a port n polish on my 16 tp heads ??
,,,my god and that's just the start  ,, I know there will be other things as I go along the way  ,
so any input or advice would be much appreciated   :D  ;-)up

;-)up cheers guys ,,im guna go for the AS41 ,,  as I stripped it last night it looked in good shape ,, crank is a good one , all std shells very clean inside ,,,, as the AS21 ,,, crank reground ,bearings dead  , and poss line bore  :-\ as ive placed the std shells in it and it feels sloppy ,,  so AS41 it is ,,,  ,, just one more thing the cylinder hole  ,, can any one tell me what the this is ???on my case it 90 mm across is this std  ???

ok guys I need your brains  again  ;-)up
ive picked up a Cpl of engine, short blocks,   I just need  a case but im not sure which is the better for the build ?? one,s an AS41 code and the others a AS21 ,,,,, ive a 1774 in mind with a full balanced crank , conrods ,ect ,ect  ,with out look of turbo in it at a later date , but before I start down the path of a build im not sure which case would be better for this :-\
any help will do  ;-)up
