VW Parts For Sale / 1300 Engine and Gearbox
March 09, 2020, 09:27:18 AM
Hi

As it says in the title I don't have space for so have decided to get shot of a 1300TP Engine and Gearbox.  They came from a scrapper and i have no idea if the engine runs etc so they are sold for spares or repair.  £150 the pair should do.  Need gone ASAP

Thanks

Parts Wanted / LWB Body
January 26, 2019, 10:58:42 AM
Just wanting to check the status quo, any old but serviceable LWB bodies out there?

I'm not sure I'll stick with LWB for long, just long enough to get it sorted then I'd really like an SWB.  This being the case I'm not sure I want to spend £2k on a funky LWB kit, better wait and get the SWB new.

So what's about?

So, to put us out of our misery, what does the V5 actually say?   ???

Mine says "Beetle Saloon" I'm intending to build a LWB and to get it changed if possible.

Hmmm strikes me that it'll be cheaper to just write this chassis off and find a replacement.

Thank you for the replies.

I'm now looking at keeping my chassis but the framehead is pretty bad, I'm happy with welding and making up a jig etc etc.. My question is regarding the pattern panels: they look shocking quality wise; visibly distorted and welding that looks like it was done by a blind hedgehog....in a bag.

Which is the least rubbish / closest to OEM in your opinions?

I've had to take this from sale as I have now picked it up and the chassis isn't in great condition.

VW Parts For Sale / Complete Rolling Chassis
December 28, 2018, 09:12:17 AM
Hi All

Testing the water here.  Over the Christmas period I helped a mate out by buying a complete chassis off him, unfortunately it was with the intent of using it to build a LWB buggy but I didn't really consider the logistics and am struggling to find a place to store it until I can get round to building one.  With that and the fact I really shouldn't have spent the cash I am offering it on for what I paid.

I believe it to be complete with running gear gearbox, brakes, engine etc, he literally stripped the original body off a few weeks ago.  There's new floorpans and a box of bits including the loom.

The downside is there's currently no V5, I have run the reg through DVLA online and it seems legit, I was getting set to apply for it but the time it takes to come through the chassis would be sitting outside until I could sell it.

It owes me £500 all in.

Thoughts?

Give me a ring 07776182831 not a project but a very nice manx

I very much suspect a finished car is out of my price range at the moment :)

To update, I specified SWB but actually any correctly registered and documented Chassis short or long would be grand.

Hi All

It's a loose want.  I'm on the lookout for a SWB chassis which is correctly registered as a Beach Buggy. I don't want the hassle of going through the motions etc or the stress of losing the use of it on the road due to incorrect V5 etc etc....  I say it's a loose want as I'm keeping an eye open for one at a reasonable price, and I mean reasonable from both sides. I understand supply and demand.

If I can't find one then I will go down the Manxster 2+2 route but I felt it worth the try first.

TIA

Beach Buggy IVA / SVA Help / New IVA Manual?
August 24, 2018, 07:42:34 AM
Hi All

Quick question (I didn't see this elsewhere so sorry if it's been covered); I went to download the IVA manual and note that it has "Effective from September 2018" plastered across it. Does anyone know exactly what has changed?

Beach Buggy Body and Chassis Help / Length
June 20, 2017, 09:13:10 PM
Morning.

Would I be right in the assumption that as the Mantaray had a wheelbase of 78.5, a GP or Predator body with a wheelbase of 78.75, so 1/4" difference, would fit on the Mantaray chassis?

Thanks
