"NEWS" is a chilled out buggy weekend to bring the UK buggy clubs together, from the North, East, West and South.
The venue now set to be Lower Lode Inn a friendly 15th Century riverside inn set in rural Gloucestershire as our previous venue is no longer available. Unfortunately our usual weekend (2nd weekend) is already booked, so the new date is set to be 19th – 21st July 2013 and we will have a camp-site all to ourselves with toilet/basic shower facilities on site.
Tent pitches are £7.50 per night and caravans are £10.00 per night including electric hook-up.
Well behaved pets are most welcome.
To save confusion – bookings are being taken through me to keep things simpler for the proprietor.
If you would like to come, please send the correct amount through paypal to hazelbuller@hotmail.co.uk as a 'Personal' payment of some kind and pay the small fee as well.
If you'd prefer to pay by my cash or cheque, get in touch.

I can see me not using my roof!! it will be easier for me to get dry, than to get the mud stains out of the soft top ! what was I thinking having one made in that colour !!?!?!
Will we need to put out tents up on blocks...... a bit like the caravans ;D ;D
Rob
Maybe we should get in touch with Mel ;D see if he wants to make us some canoes!
Just found out that the Honda club has cancelled and won't be using the other field (their off to Oxford instead). So this means some rooms are also now available.
There are:
- 2 Double rooms - one person £35/two people £55
- There's another room that can take 5 people, double + bunk bed + sofa bed which is £55 for two people and +£5 for each extra person.
- And another room that can fit 4...
Each of the prices are per night and include breakfast. So if anyone wants to change their booking or if anyone now wants to come since rooms are now available - let me know ;-)up
I'm hoping to get this sorted/paid for soon. So MBC folks that have said they want to pay me at club night tomorrow, don't forget :D

The only way I could get Nicki to agree to this weekend & Swanage is if we booked a room for NEWS. So we have, will be campervan & awning at Swanage tho! (plus buggy)
Hazel,
Due towork comittments we can't confirm , but are we okay to attend if we can, will pay asap. Long term buggy fans, pretty new owners. Whats the protecol, can we tow to meet, it's along way for us up north (past Manchester) ;D.
Best,
Paul and Rachel.
Me and Pepsi(Rachel)also drive a Honda ;D
Incidently, any others attending BRMC gigs in Manchester/Glasgow 24/24 March letus know,we'll meet up ;-)up
Hi PAul and Rachel,
Towing to an event is acceptable as long as its not towed around at the event ;D
To be honest its all about the get together and cruise around rather than a 60mph slog down the motorway for hours on end.
BUT can't promise no one will take the mick out of you though ;)
Chad
I can promise that I WILLl take the mick!!
I will be very subtle though .... I will just call you by the name of a old member ...
Anyone able to guess what name ???
;D guess we'll risk it to meet you all for the first time. ;-)up
That 70's kid is like that with everyone - I wouldn't worry ::) ;D
The more the merrier, we're all pretty laid back and there are still pitches available.
So I've received some money... Chad was meant to send me an email telling me who had paid - but he hasn't and now he's off on skiing...
Can you tell me who's paid please? No funny business...

the pub carvery is good and home made puddings even better, was there a bit ago but the owners are fighting back from the floods so the place should be better by the summer it was very wet and untidy still.

Argh - only 5 spaces left (4 now if Fran has just booked) - and I realised I haven't sent you any money yet.
Is it just tent spaces left or is there room for my trailer tent?? (a tiny bit bigger than DND Daves)
Save me a space Hazel and I'll get Louise to transfer some money today
Paul
Hi Hazel,
Have got Louise to send you some cash ;-)up for myself, Louise and GrooveChampion Jnr (if he behaves) - 2 nights. Not 100% sure if tenting or bringing the trailer tent yet (see post above) so have paid for tent - if I owe you any more money let me know.

I think we can all bunch up and fit in ok, we're a friendly bunch after all.

No, I meant to pay then forgot about it - oops..... Like I said if I need to send more money for trailer tent let me know
Paul
I bet we can get more than 20 tents on the pitch as we are a friendy bunch, I could take a bedroom compartment or 2 in the caravan awning so we have 6 bed spaces on our pitch.
Anyway Paul you shared with Jon last year so why book a pitch just make sure he is bringing the big tent ;)
I hope the weather is kinder to you this year.
Its not like we are traditional campers with our own designated areas, I guess we adopt the more "festival" type approach - if you can see grass, you can pitch a tent on it, and if you see a hard standing, then someone has nicked my trailer tent
;D
I can`t ever see us turning anyone away, can you ? ;)

I did think about just showing up and crashing somewhere but we are hopefully bringing the little guy this year and he gets up at 630 so don't want to put Jon through that (so we'll stick him in with Dave dream)
Hazel,
Any placeslet. If we can will contact Groove champion, and may be Crowey for a buggy convey from way up north. :) ;-)up ;D

Hi
few questions ..
any pitches left 2 people plus dog ,buggy and camper ,also is there wifi in the Pub ? I know its an odd request but I am on call that weekend ,I can handle most things with wifi if needed ?

Yes there's still some space ;-)up I think there is wifi but not sure...
QuoteI think there is wifi but not sure...
If wifi isn't available, you are welcome to use my modem, via USB or wireless, as long as the

NEWS is looming! :D
Looking forward to this. Got Mrs Shaggy with me for the first time this year. Suns booked up so let's have a good time ;-)up
perhaps a daft question....
i see breakfast is sorted for the saturday.
are there any other meal plans?
joint BBQ sat night?
pub lunch saturday?
just trying to plan what i should cram into my buggy apart from tea bags and milk !
funny enough Mrs Shaggy asked me the same thing last night....I think its pub lunch while we are out. dont know about the night
just thinking its a fair few people, so a joint BBQ of a night could be a lot of waiting around for burned or raw meat !
may be better sticking to own devices ??
Was meant to ask, does anyone want me to bring the BBQ we brought last year... ???
how did that work out last year?
how many people were there?
Good planning - even with my new super duper storage - I doubt I will be bringing any food, so will need to buy supplies down there. If there is a joint BBQ that sounds like a plan - Now if only I knew what sort of cheese to buy....hmmmm....... ::)

Suppose I ought to find that then ;D
we will have a smallish gas barby with the caravan it will cook for 4 at a time depending on intake of course it may be easier with a few small ones if the pub does not have a large one we can use.
transporting a 1/2 50 gallon drum barby requires space.
Surely, all thats required is a frying pan big enough to hold, oh I don't know.... erm... a slice or two of white sliced bread? (just a thought...) ::)

Hi Hazel,
Can you book 2 of us in for breakfast on the Sunday at the pub - we'll be getting there Saturday now. If there's a mass Barbie going on on the Saturday eve we will bring some stuff. If not we'll join whoever is in the pub. ;-)up ;-)up ;-)up
It's going to be a brill weekend. ;D ;D ;D
Cheers

You'll have to phone the pub for that one I'm afraid...
Still not sure what's going on about the BBQ.
And yes, I should probably find out what time we can start putting up our tents on Friday morning (it's on my to do list)...
I posted this in the other thread but I probably should have put it here... ::)
I shall be setting off sometime early ish on Friday morning... And this is how i shall be doing the trip, so may meet up
with some of you on the way ;-)up
(http://www.manxmaniac.co.uk/uploadsForInternet/MyRoute.jpg)
Was thinking today about what sort of time everyone was planning on getting there ?
Wanna do another list Hazel?
I'm planning on bunking off work ( they get their pound of flesh from me anyway)
So was going to pitch up about lunch time I guess ??
Just so I know if I'm gonna be stock with crazy Dave alone for too long ??!'
Remember Channel 23 Good Buddies ;-)up
Well I guess I'd better put my beak in and say something.
I'll stock up with meat munchies either way for whatever barby we have. Don't forget the squeaky cheese everyone ;-)up I'll be bringing my gas 1 ring cooker for brewing up, just incase I fancy a cuppa or late night beans and sausages from a can. Plus cans of Strongboy ;D
Can't think of much else. Anyone else going down on Saturday morning? I've got work till late Friday night/ early Saturday. So I'm gonna try and get there just after you lot have had breakfast.
Can someone save me a pitch between Shaggy and Dan 8) (one man tent)
Sunshine all the way ;-)up ;-)up ;-)up ;-)up ;-)up ;-)up
Gotta wait for my lad to finish school, so it'll be a later arrival for me, 7pm at the earliest, but probably nearer 8pm :(
Sorry Dave. There will be no chance of you staying near me!!!
Or shaggy, I fact I'm going to make a huge effort to keep you apart !!
This may sound silly but.....
I really don't like having all this heat and travelling during the day stuck on motorways with all the daily traffic
and getting broiled in the process....
Sooo......... :)
I will be travelling up at night, and will leave during the early morning on Friday, many times
I have done this and quite honestly its a really lovely way to go. The night lights, fresh smells and wildlife everywhere.
If the heat is still here, it will be warm too, and I will be in the area for when the sun comes up, my favourite time and
something that many miss out on, as sunrise on a hot summer day in the country, not on a motorway, and in a buggy just cannot be beaten. :D :D
See you there :) ;-)up
I finish work at 1 pm, we hope to be there by 4pm. We will probably eat at the pub as I don't think the food will keep, unless there is a BBQ then we can stop off during the cruise to pick up supplies.
Hazel, I am hoping that shaggy has booked us breakfast for sat and sun at the pub?

It was only a provisional number I was wanting as the landlady as me for a rough idea...
I don't think we're bothering to bring food. To busy with the buggy ::)
We`re bringing food - and may well eat at the pub too, and will still have space for eggy bread morning, noon and night.

(And hoping to be there for around lunch time friday)
I`m with you Peter, I love driving at "crack of sparrow fart myself" it truly is a lovely time to set off . . .
That is unless you live down here in the West Country where you end up driving full on into the sunrise and being blinded with no escape.
We also get it driving home too when the sun sets in the west.

No worries, would be good to see you again, didn't really see you the first time ???
http://www.lowerlodeinn.co.uk/contact-us/
Food wise it's not far tro Tewkesbury. There's a Morrisons supermarket only about 5-6miles from the site. Of course all the bar-b q stuff will sell out by 10am ::)
Yes, supermarket shop down there after setting up camp is required here too - just no room in the buggy not even for a frying pan! ;)
List? For what? ???
a time table list, what time people plan to get there really.
just for poops and giggles really.
more to the point.... to ensure that Shaggy and Dave arent alone together for too long as no good will come of it if they dont have adult supervision !
but now i know Peter will be there early I feel safer !
Oh yes,.... got to have a list!
Meanwhile, I need to make sure I get there early for my mansion of a tent! The good news is that folks didn't hear a single snore from me last outing... I must be getting better!
Ok - I'll start the arrival time list
Groove Champion arriving sometime about a week on Tuesday (need time to find passport, get shots, try and put together some of that funny money you insist us Scots use every time we travel south of "the wall" - and then their is the actual drive itself...) ;-)up

I feel your pain, Passport stamped for going up north -
but I cannot find an exchange rate for our local currency of seashells and pebbles :(
Hi
We are not going to make this weekend ,I am sorry ,I was taking a risk with the On-Call and it seems to have backfired ,also the wifes best friend is 50 and she is having a bash she realy wants to go to.
Hazel ..please if anyone can make use of our pitch please do ,maybe drop a couple of quid in a charity box of your choice and it will make me feel better ... not much though .
Have a good time and I hope this good weather lasts for you

Dave,
For clarification
10 pebbles or 5 shells = 1 cabbage
10 cabbages = 1 chicken
5 chickens = 1 pig
Also have smaller denominations of peas, faggots (meat type :o) and lumps of coal..
Groove Champ. As the song goes, just get here when you can.
I am picking Alex up from school and heading straight down from there so be there about 4:30ish. Little fella will still be in his uniform, like a little Angus Young, but I bet the other kids will be jealous when I pick him up. :)
How many cabbages do I get for a one Haggis (fully grown) ???

Providing its housetrained, I`ll trade you a seagull ???
I think I will do the scenic route going straight across (84 miles and approx 2.5hrs),
Am guessing though (as brilliant as Peters idea is, I will leave at Friday Lunchtime and cruise across in the mid afternoon sun!

did i hear that haggis legs are longer one side than the other?? so they can run on the side of a mountain easier??
if so...
is there a different value for left or right handed ones??
Moving on...
Got 2 friends (I know TWO - who would believe such a thing) that would like to come to NEWS this year and seeing as I'll probably be in the buggy with Dad, I won't have space for them, so is there is anyone around or passing through the area on Friday that could pick them up... hint hint.
Could someone give them a lift?
The AA truck following me usually has around six seats in the back ;D

Argh.... Yes fair point, well made! :P
I know this was loosely mentioned as a bit of a joke, about some form of "Road Trip" between NEWS and Swanage, but just wondering if anyone was actually contemplating anything ?
???
I certainly was... But got too much work on etc to afford time off - being a one man band, trying to portray a corporate image and all that....
Plus living in a tent for over a week, just ain't me!

Aorange is going on tour :D
Mark, Fleur, Paddy and Sonya are heading straight down to Weymouth area after NEWS but unfortunately due to school and Ruth having some work to finish we won't be heading down to Swanage until Friday....
Hazel - Food Question (Yes, I know its all about food with me)
You previously muttered about breakfasts "en mass" at the pub
Was this for Saturday Morning, Sunday Morning or both?
Need to know, so I know how much extra breakfast to bring ;)
Its here.... :D :D :D :D and the Sun's goin to be out ;-)up
Have a safe journey everyone, I shall see you tomorrow :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D ;-)up

Pretty sure they will do it on Sunday as well!
Sorry I never got round to calling the pub to find out when people can set up their tents, but I'm pretty sure it'll be fine...
If folks want breakfast, maybe you could tell the guys in the pub and they can start a tally?
Pretty well packed. Just charging the 3x cameras, the iPad, the mega battery pack, the portable wi-fi, Wiping the memory cards ready. Checking the on board camera mounts, Loading a few TV programs onto the iPad. Programing the satnav on the phone.
Not sure about you lot, but I love camping... you know sleeping in the great outdoors, loving nature, getting away from all the everyday items and hassles we have in our lives.... ::) ::) ::)

In a buggy you have no choice. 24C here now in the shade going to be a scorcher later on.
we have the awning without the sides on and I think chimp is also taking a gazeebo for shade.
see you all there aiming around midday so we can set up and be ready for folks arriving with heat exhaustion rather than the cold very wet but happy last year.
Peter is already there! I think you should go an look after him, bless ;D
It certainly is going to be a hot one! I got the sun for this one! :P

Hi all.
I've been very lazy with the buggy lately but if the bus passes its mot in the next hour my weekend is quite clear.
If all goes to plan I should be able to get up there tomorrow for a chat and the cruise.
What time are you lot going to be leaving the campsite for the cruise?
Cheers
Testa
Breakfast is between 8-10 and cruise is around 11...
