Hi.

Just been back from a long drive and i started to get a loud repetative squeak from the engine.

I thought it was the belt but its not that, or the dizzy. Im thinking the valve clearance? Too tight?
I done an adjusment a few weeks ago maybe 100 miles

May be the fan although a head or exhaust leak can squeak

As Snoopy say's, if the heads have not been torqued down properly, you can get a squeaky noise from them but this will be when you put your foot down! Best take the fan belt off and see if the squeak goes away.

Cheers lads.

Well the squeak was at low rpm say 800 to 1200.

Its raining so didnt get out today but started up and no noises after about 10mins sat there ticking over and the odd held rev to 2k or so...

Decided to spray the belt with anti squeal and oiled the dizzy wick just encase. Only time will tell if thats it sorted lol.
