evenin folks,
i'm thinkin as i've started striping bits off the bonnet (prep for paint), do i want to move the fuel cap,

at the min the cap is located high and central with tween 2 and 3' of hose connecting it to the tank, i think there may have been a problem in the past with settlement of fuel in the pipe due to the length of pipe needed and so the length of the pipe left it sagging slightly in the middle.(length is needed if you need to lift the bonet at the min).
I'm thinking what if i put a 90 deg neck on the tank (tank fills from top right corner) with screw cap so the bonnet can be lifted without the need to disconnect a hose and a flush fit lockable cap over the position of the filler neck.
So if i decide to change it,
Does the new 90 deg neck need to be aluminum and welded to the tank or would a reinforced silicon bend with jubilee fittings work?
any probs from those who have done this kinda thing to their own buggy?
best place for parts (not too expencive) ?

Rich :)

I am guessing you central filler is connected to the original tank fill pipe at the side. If you have a central filler just move the filler connection from the side to the top of the tank directly below the filler.
Flush the tank well and vent it before any welding is done.
