Not really a bling fan. But while my exhaust is off I thought I should have a bit of a clean on my engine. Not sure what's wrong with me, but feel the need to have a bash at a giving my rocker covers a polish.
I have a dremmel and loads of the little white pads. Is it just a case of a squirt of autosol and time with the dremmel??
Should I go in little circles? Lines ?
Is there any secrets?
Or just a big bag of patience ?

Depends what they are made of.... if they are Chrome Autosol is not ideal as its abrasive and on cheap chrome it can wear through very quickly.  If they are alloy I would start with wire wool if they are bad.  You can give them a hell of a rub and wont do damage.  Then Autosol and doesnt really matter which direction as long as you stay uniform

On my old bikes we used old chrome cleaner, but the trick with old tarnished chrome / alloy is to leave the cleaner as long as you can.. when its dry and i mean like dust buff like hell and it gives a better polish and quicker shine than just keep trying to put it on and buff. I also found cutting paste very good too

polish or eastern europeans as we have plenty of them here
as for making stuff shine I use MAAS now seems buff up well and last it is a smooth cream not that i clean much.

  Like that one and it made me laugh....      But you will have to think of a new one as chrome is so last year..  Polished alloy and annodised is the way to go for this season..  Started some of that at the back end of last year and a few plans for some more
