I am going down the same route as you with the front disc conversion from VeeWee / GSF.   Did you have any issues with the spindles / hubs.   I am now on my second set and have rejected them as the quality of the thread is really poor.  So bad I cant get the clamp on one.  The ones they sent today was just crap .... here is one         

They are now trying to source some from another supplier .... so was interested in how yours went

No, I cannot say I had any issues at all, everything went together quite nicely.

Looking at that picture though, it looks more like a damaged in transit problem and the thread has slid along something it shouldn`t have? Maybe a bit loose in the box ?

Were they posted to you, or did you collect them from over the branch counter ?

Posted. If you think these are bad you should have seen the first lot...they are sending me some more as my local place doesn't have them in stock. They came with protective covers on as well so this is a manufacturing issue

Not disputing quality of the thread / materials, but a line straight across all threads like that can only come from some form of impact damage - if they had protective covers on, then the damage may well have occurred prior to them being fitted

Yeah shame as the kit in general seemed good and simple..now looks like I will waste another week waiting for bits.  Annoying as I want the buggy back on the road as I am missing shows and events

That is awful and I would send it back, sometime things like this annoy me a lot,
the thread should be full form and nice and even and shiny along its length.

To be honest, if that was at my work, it would be scrapped!

Hopefully you can get a decent set of front spindles soon, I know many may not like CB Performance stuff, but my front disc
spindles are spot on everywhere, the machining is perfect and just as it should be.

I think if anyone's going this route, you must go for the best you can get, after all this lot hold your wheels on and copes with all the
battering our roads throw at you, it basically keeps you alive!. So it needs to be good.

I wouldn't buy anything like this from any of the VW after market suppliers, Full Stop!

This is exactly what I have been saying. I told them why would I put my life at risk due to crap like this.  In fairness they have been helpful down to ordering from another supplier.  If the next lot are no better I will be asking for a refund and then other options I guess.  Annoying and wasting so much time.

I can see four things in this photo that just smack of crap in each department...

When you do get a refund, have a look at the higher end suppliers, I don't always just bang on about things
like this, just, how hard can it be, the problem is that most people don't have a clue what's involved and
buy things like this thinking that's how it is!
Its not, its complete sh..e, I would hazard a guess that this spindle was made waaaay before CNC and modern tooling was even invented!
To be honest it looks like an old knackered spindle that's been re-done, whatever 're-done' is..... And then its been sold again, now.

Cant really be sure, but the entire photo shows something thats so bad it should be in the bin

I will post some more pics when back on my pc tomorrow... They are amazingly bad and no way I will accept them....my old ones on the drums are in better nick and are 40 years old. You will be appalled. I still have all 4...to be returned so have the evidence

That is pure scrap, fit that and you would be driving around waiting for it to fail.

You should have been a fly on the wall when I called them..... then when they sent the second lot   OMG ..... the guy I have been dealing with to be fair has been great and he really hasnt tried to make any excuse.  I now have 4 crap ones and no rush to get them back... two more are being flown in (litterally) and he hopes will arrive in Heathrow tomorrow.   These are from a different supplier so hopefully better.

If they are this bad I am on plan B and they will be getting all 6 back.

The discs they sent look good (drilled like Daves) and are german.  The Calipers look OK as well.  The Bearings all looked pretty standard so assume to be ok as well.   So it will just be the spindles.

I also think CSP do some and they seem to be much better quality (my dual Master Cylinder is CSP and I was impressed by the overall quality of that).

I have even started to look at the dropped spindles and the CB ones that Peter mention (and they all look much better quality).  I am not sure what is entailed in dropped spindles ie do I have to change anything else as I havent really thought about them upto now.

Let see what Peter has to say .... I am guessing he will be as annoyed as me as crap like this should not find its way into shops and on vehicles.

Dave - you seem to have been lucky    I bet they have changed suppliers or something like that since you got yours.

Snoopy - yep it really is and as much as I want the buggy on the road - its not going to be with these on and I will wait to get it right.
