Hi, I'm Andy and I used to have a buggy about 15 years ago. I only had it for about a year and did not know much about them then, I just drove it and remember having a blast!
This is the only photo I have of it , the guy who bought it off me told me he was going to take it to Spain the following weekend where he lived.
I currently ride a 1700cc motorcycle, but I am thinking of getting a convertable so we can go out as a family but all the new ones are either way too expensive or lack any character. So I'm on the look out for a buggy as they have bags of character, smiles per miles, and relatively affordable. I need to have a good look around b4 I spend any money. We are going to the kit car show on Sunday 3rd May so hope to see lots there.

Hi Andy, good to see you on here.

If Stoneleigh this year is even half of what it was last year, it will simply blow your mind -

make sure you come over to see us and make yourselves known   ;-)up

Well your previous buggy looks fantastic so you've got used to a high standard. But remember you can always buy a more affordable buggy that might lack some personality and then add your own unique combination or twist. Eg different exhaust, change mirrors, new tyres and of course paint it yellow!

Plenty of affordable ideas on this site and legions of knowledgeable members offering free advice and wise pointers.

Enjoy the search for 'your' buggy.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

A very nice Mk2 GP you had there! Yes for sure come up to Stoneleigh - there will be plenty of us there. Last year was the big one as it was the 50th anniversary and we got 108 buggies there. This year there may be less but never the less you will see all sorts of buggies whether rough and ready or highly bling'ed up, work in progress to regular daily drivers. And lots  and lots of us to help advise (though I can't comment on the quality of that advice!  ;D ;D ;D )

See you there! ;-)up

Sorry, it's a Mk3...flared rear arches and the rear wings come down lower at the back. Pedantic bugger aren't I...sorry!!! ;-)up

Wow, thanks guys. Great welcome.
Dave DND - yes will do
Chrisbarker - Andover, and I've updated my profile
Thanks everyone else for the welcome. I've just realised I've double booked myself, Paignton bike show (which I've attended for the last 4 or 5 years) is the same weekend. So either I choose between them or do Paignton on Saturday and Stoneleigh on Sunday.  :-\

Quick question, I'm going to need 4 seats what is best to be looking for? There was a nice looking Blue swb on eBay a couple of weeks ago, it was listed as four seats but I thought swb are two and lwb are four. Can someone help?

Stoneleigh on the Sunday is the day to go!

Re-2/4 seats in a buggy. Though a bit cramped, it is possible to get 2 seats in the back on a SWB - not ideal but possible. But typically yes a 4 seater is more practical as a LWB.  ;-)up

Cool, looks like a busy weekend then!
Thanks for info re seats. My children are 7 and 13 so need to include them. I prefer the shape and proportions of the swb but may have to wait a few years till they have grown up and flown the nest or no longer want to be seen out with daddy!  ;-)up

This is my long wheel base Californian at black rock sands last year.

This seats 4... 2 adults in the front and to kids in the back ( or is it 2 kids in the front and 2 adults in the back)
I'm in my buggy,
It's raining,
I really don't care.
