Sorry Graham, just sent you an email back (been busy in the office) Anyway, my suggestion was its a GP mk2 LWB  (may be a "super buggy")
May just be a Californian but with out the side pods but not 100% sure with regard to rear design on those - Shaggy would know though.

As Andy said, a GP .  I think the Californians has more of a lip o nthe top of the tub to help keep the rain out.  And certainly had rectangular/flat rear light panels.

Personally I wouldn't bother mate, I think it looks good without!

Its deffo a Gp Mk2 LWB mate.
As for side pods mate I would leave it as is.
The front wing and lower edge of the body side has been altered.
the pods will no longer be a straight fit.

Oh yes and although I'm a side pod kinda guy..... yours without looks spot on, in fact IMHO better without them.

Hey, nearly all buggies are Bas***d's of some sort whether its by the body work alterations done to them over the years, the variations of mold after mold after mild or even if its just the day they wont run right! 

I still love it when going through the specs with the insurance companies "Has the vehicle been modified at all?"
