As a firm believer in fire safety I do believe everyone and every car should have an extinguisher in there vehicle

As I'm in the industry I have an opportunity to supply some good savings on extinguishers

2ltr AFFF foam extinguisher with mounting bracket £18.50 + postage (these are approved for use in Motorsport under MSA regulations

1kg ABC powder extinguisher with mounting bracket £12.95 + postage

950g BC powder aerosol extinguisher with no bracket £9.95 + postage

Let me know your requirements.

Hiya, yes I do think we could all do with a fire extinguisher in our buggies!. The problem I have and no doubt others, is, what size do we need? as you are in the industry as you say. How long do these work for when putting out a fire and how big a fire will they handle? I have small powder aerosol's but have no idea on what size fire they might work on, so they could be a waist of time lol. Oh I shouldn't laugh, this is fire we are talking about

Mine was BIG and a 1kg was more than enough.
I would have lost the lot without 1.

The MSA recommend extinguishers should be a minimum of 1.75ltr AFFF foam.

The smaller 1kg powder should be sufficient for a small engine Fire or electrical fire

Are co2 extinguishers not rated for cars etc? I have a co2 one in my car atm but I've noticed these are all foam/powder based. Obviously waters no use for a car unless its from a fire engine.

Same as Weazel here, I bought 2x of the aerosols from Car Builder Solutions about 2x years ago now - I did wonder about best before dates and how effective they would be. Still on the positive they are blue and very shiny so look well strapped to either side of the roll hoop.

So yes, subject to the dates Gary, I assume that those 2x will be enough? Otherwise I might well be placing an order :)

CO2 will work but due to external conditions namely wind it's not as effective as foam or powder

The small aerosol ones do have a shelf life of 5 years but they can lose pressure before that date

Aerosols are disposal units and cannot be serviced.

Larger units are serviceable.
