Hi guys and dolls


I'm 20 minutes work away from booking an MOT on the yellow buggy.

The buggy is registered in Mrs Testa's name and is sorb and not insured.

Question.  Can I drive the buggy on one of my policy's that allows third party cover on any vehicle?

Part if me thinks the buggy would need some sort of cover before mine would be legit.

it needs to be insured in its own right for you to be able to drive it tp on your own policy. 

usually it has to be insured in its own right for your policy to cover it but in a sneaky move a lot of newer policies don't even allow that to check your policy

The rules may have changed but I used to drive the daughters golf on my policy when she was 16 and unable to get insurance just to keep it in fettle for when she reached 17.
I got pulled by the police one night and he thought he was on a winner a lowered mk2, dark windows,big bore exhaust and body kit fancy wheels with rubber bands on and showing on his ANPR as no insurance.
He was gutted when a middle  aged bloke wound down the window holding an insurance document however I could not park it and walk away and it was only covered when I was in it so it was driving or on the drive. I had checked with my insurance company first though.

A lot of insurance policys dont cover you to drive spouses car as some people took the pee 

IMHO it is best to insure the car and add yourself as a named driver, that is what we have done with all of ours except the buggy cos she aint driving that
