I've found that the seats are muffling the headrest speakers, so I'm going to have to punch a set of holes into them, not sure how to do that yet.

In the meantime I wired in the heat pads in the seats to the loom.  This has shown another problem, with the headlights going, the stereo and the seats, the 55amp alternator can't keep up.  So I'm now thinking I need to upgrade my alternator from the 55 amp, the question is do I go 75 amp or 90 amp?

Don't forget if I can have first dibs on your old alternator if you change pretty please

seat recovering looks great rather than put holes in the seats would the upgraded speakers be better if they still have the original rectangular ones fitted.

I've got the upgraded 10w ones in there already.  They are definitely muffled.

Small holes punched through in a pattern is the norm with MX-5 leather seats.

No problem at all. I have seen it done elsewhere too, but had already bought mine by then.

Originally FFs built by the manufacturer installed them with early Polo rear light clusters.

It's a lovely buggy, I followed it and it followed me a lot during the swanage weekend...
Snowy is fairly hooked on it too.

Time to get ready for Swanage and having no storage was a problem.  Before I have always just loaded the back seat to the brim and set off like that but decided it was time for a change






You can see I attached it at the front using mirror mounts and the rear using 2" roll bar mounts I bought from the states.

Thinking about a stripe on it too now.

Have a word with your trimmer about perforated headlining material, as there are many types with holes in already, and you may find a colour to match your existing seats -

Might look a lot neater than taking a hole punch to it
