How the hell are you ..... been ages.  Hope all is going well mate and hope you make it to Stoneleigh.... just dont bring any of the French apple juice !    Glad to see you are still keeping up appearances for the dark side     Sadly I will still have my little 1300 in this weekend so still wont be able to keep up with Ginge!   Work has sort of got in the way as I have been all over the place.  Since we last met I have not worked in the UK other than working from home a few times.    But you will be pleased to know the new motor is stripped and just about mid polish.   I need to decide which way to go now as I sort of set off down the annodised route  but have found an old school chroming place recently!!! Havent tried him out but went to see some of his work... very impessed.

All going well here. Aiming to be at Stoneleigh for definite but just not certain if I'll be stopping over on Sunday night (hoping to though). Will take it easy on the apple juice and spotted that Davy is playing it safe by limiting himself to one night only. 

Ginge is looking much the same as last time you feasted your eyes apart from having to wash off some Bodelwyddan muck to fit the oil cooler. May even get the Windowlene out before Sunday. 

Looking forward to catching up again.

OK, with under a week to go, I would like to make a shout out for those southern buggies that are planning on travelling Saturday, to make some arrangements for a cruise to Stoneleigh.
I live in Surrey, on borders of Surrey / Hampshire.
We have Les who is Farnham way, and Kenny mentioned meeting up for a cruise.

Anybody else want to join..? This would be an early afternoon meet.
Not sure of a route yet, I had thought of running through countryside from A30 to M4 to A34 to M40 - any further ideas to lessen the motorway usage..?

Did you guys come up with a plan ,M25 J13 ? although from the sounds of it you will be trying to avoid the M25 ..

Not sure yet, but no plan to use the M25, would rather go cross country to M4 and then A34 to M40.......
if you want to join, you could always come down the A30 to me and travel from there after a cuppa tea.... I am just south of Camberley, 2 mins off the A30 and a great back road through to M4, via A33 etc.... Just a thought..!!

Glad the kit car show is first wouldn't fancy camping there after those two shows

Well tomorrow I'm heading off to my GF's in Kings Lynn for a long 7h's on the motorway... Triple checked I have the tickets in my case  cause it'll be a long haul to come back for them!

(can meet anyone on the way there, leaving at about 7am.. No buggy but will have jump leads and some tow ropes just encase )

Checking the camping thread I reckon there will be ~50 buggys there. 30 camping and hopefully just as many going through on the day... One for each year!

If you counted mine it could be 49.  Thinks are not going 

With 50 maybe 49 buggies floating about this weekend with the possibility of a few more I reckon the " spotted out and about " section is going to get a hammering   

A plea for help....

I appreciate that it is getting a bit late, but does anyone in the Harrow/London area have a suitable tow car I could make use of to tow my buggy to the show on Sunday?

Attempting to hire a suitable vehicle is proving somewhat expensive @ £200+ and then provide your own insurance.

Ironically my next door neighbour has a Range Rover with a tow bar on his drive, however it is not currently taxed or insured!

I am happy to pay for fuel, entry fee, drinks, food, etc.

Please contact me via PM if you are able to help so as not to de-rail the thread.

Yes, that's sorted. 
Went in for MOT yesterday and after a discussion which I won't go into on here I got the list of stuff that needs doing.  Not a massive amount,  but it involves a bit of welding to the pan which I'm going to have to get someone to do, and a couple of other bits which may, or may not, take me too long to do.
One thing which is puzzling me a little is one of ther bottom ball joints has not located fully into the stub axle.  I've had a do at it twice and thought it was just the boot that was just sitting a little short. It's not.  So that may end up being a real pain.  I'm sure it was fine when I had the balljoint renewed, but I took the torsion arms off again to fit new grease seals.
Going to see if I can get a couple of days off work, and see if the garage can do the welding and re-test on Friday.  I know they were stacked out yesterday, so I'm not hopeful.

It's touch and go whether mine will make it there too. I bled the brakes the other day with Chad's help but don't currently have a master cylinder fitted as it decided to pee itself in the night. I should get the brakes done again this evening but there's still quite a bit to do on the engine.

I spent over four hours last night fannying about with my carbs. I've had to revert to the old hex-bar linkage and no air filters. They are *almost* fitted now - I just need to get the grinder out on them in the next day or so.

I also discovered a temperature sender, brand new in the box. That meant that my temp gauge was connected to something it shouldn't be. It appears that the thing sitting inline in my oil lines is a thermostatic switch that should be connected to the cooler fan relay and not the gauge! I need to wire that up correctly (about 1000000 times more difficult now the engine's in  ) and for now not monitor the temp. I'll need to decide where / how I mount the sender at a later date.

There are other things that need doing too but I'm too  to consider the way forward with them at the mo. I just want to focus on the bare minimum to get a MOT.
