All,

For those of you with either a Manx or Manx derived shell (sidewinder, predator etc) and who have a rear seat, how have you gone about keeping the upright section in place.

My seat is hopefully off to the trimmers very soon and if there is something that needs doing while its being trimmed, I could do with knowing.

Right now, the upright section continually falls forward and at speed is buffeted etc which I think contributes to the issue. Had a couple of idea which were either to bolt it in place or use some strips of industrial velco?

Any more ideas?

Yep agreed - used velcro before. Though when I did it was just the usual cheap small stuff which was pretty useless so as you say, make sure even its not industrial, its certainly broad meaty stuff.

got a roll of velcro here about  2" wide self adhesive if you need some Ben.

Before my piece of ply was trimmed I put a roundhead bolt through the centre of it with a thin nut to lock it which goes through a hole drilled in the back of my shell then tightens down with a washer and nylock nut.

Holds it firmly in place and hidden as tucked behind engine fan shroud, but I know not everyone will want to drill holes in their shells

Dave, that might be a little overkill just to keep a seat section in place!!

The Velcro I think will be fine.
