Does anyone here have their seats bolted directly to the floor pan? (without mounts)

If so, has anyone experienced problems with the pedals being awkward to operate?

I'm asking this because I want to have the seating as low as possible.

    Any info gratefully received..  ;-)up

As opposed to Fran who not only had to move the seats but also the gear stick too when he got Ginger!

But to answer your question seriously, I have clubman style seats these were originally bolted directly through the floor pan (no runners) and were fine for pedals/comfort. Ok they had a little bit of height to start with and of course made sure they were at the right position lengthwise.

During the re-build this year, I added runners to help with flexibility/other drivers etc. In doing this I also needed to use the Flatlands wedges which worked a treat. So I would recommend this but of course all depends what seats you have etc.

(Im only a short arse and didn't want to be too low and now I look over the screen but thats another story)

it is all down to how you sit, things like the Nova kit used lowered pans in the seat area to get headroom but the pedals were standard fitment. Trial and error to get comfy is the answer.

Thanks for all that info guys.  ;-)up

I'm simply trying to keep the lowest profile as possible, hence the question.

From what I'm hearing it doesn't seem uncommon to bolt straight to the floor and also sounds as of the pedal operation is still perfectly OK.

What I'm hoping for is going to be less than 40" high, so to that end I'm going for standard buckets on the floor and a Puma Fan Shroud at the rear to keep things as low as possible.

Great feedback thanks ;) all.

Are you making a "GP40" ?
