Due to daughters hair getting messed up on a run today I now have a spare seat
Will be at Borehamwood A12 services 09:00, Thurrock at 10:00
On return will be going to Chris' pub, then back via A12.
PM me if you want to arrange a pickup/drop off point and if its on the route no probs.

Alternatively happy to take someone who gets there in a back seat
cheers

Here's a bit more detail on the route.....any queries or errors give me a shout.

Ace cafe route - 17th August 2013

Approx. 33 miles Maps says 1hr 25min but with stops/traffic its nearer 2hr 30mins

Initial pre-cruise meeting at Thurrock services by petrol station (for essex/north M25 crew)

10.00 Depart Thurrock and follow A13 to B&Q at Beckton.

10.15 - 11.00 meet at B&Q Beckton This is situated just off the roundabout of the A406/A13 next to KFC and McDonald's there is also a Sainsbury petrol station their for those running low on juice.

11.00am We then depart Beckton and follow A13 towards Canary Wharf and London

We will then branch off the A13 and follow signs for Canary Wharf and proceed through the Lower Lee underpass. Once out the other side we go over the flyover taking in views of canary wharf tower and other skyscrapers in London banking centre. We soon enter Limehouse link tunnel where the buggies echo and sound phenomenal. Be warned 3 speed cameras in the tunnel and it is a 30mph limit.
Upon exiting the tunnel we continue down The Highway towards central London. This road will run straight into London and after a few miles Tower of London and tower bridge will appear on your left.

Continuing along the route we bypass the City of London opting for Lower Thames Street where we have Cannon Bridge to pass under and Backfriars underpass we continue out of the city and towards the west end of London along the Embankment (lots of traffic lights - there might be the chance for traffic light grid starts - lots of tourists but also lots of police) where we will be greeted by Big Ben where we turn right towards parliament square. We take the 3rd exit off of Parliament Square heading towards Buckingham Palace we will enter St James Park and follow it straight towards Victoria but turning right upon exit of the park and immediately re-entering. The park where Buckingham Palace is on your left. We follow the road keeping the royal palace to our left to head towards Hyde park corner. Upon reaching Hyde Park Corner we take the 3rd major exit up Park Lane towards Marble Arch.
Following Park Lane we reach Marble Arch where we enter the park off the roundabout. We drive leisurely through the park (watch out for horse riders) before exiting into Bayswater Road. We then follow Bayswater Road passing Notting Hill Gate and arriving at Holland Park roundabout. We then continue towards Shepherds Bush and circumnavigate the green before driving down Wood Lane passing Westfield Shopping Centre on our right and BBC TV centre on our left. We then pick up the A40 towards Ealing and follow the road until we turn off for the A406 at Hanger Lane junction. Following the A406 Ace Cafe is situated about 1 mile down on your left

We booked in at The Ace for 2pm until 6pm, though interestingly they have the Kit Car club booked in before we are due to arrive.

Hope to see you all there

Can all those with CBs and / or a decent knowledge of the route volunteer to help out a little keeping us altogether:

I will assist however I can on that one.

It's pretty much the same route as we did last year.

Carole has done some very good instructions for keeping in convoy, which I will post later if that's ok. Remember keeping together is not about speed especially in London, low speeds (but still loud in the tunnels) is the key! There are various points along the route which will allow us to regroup as much as possible. But it is inevitable particularly once on embankment that we will be split into smaller groups.
