Hopefully everything will be ok, I often talk to truck drivers on my way to work
if I travel near the motorway, and so far my Sirio GL27 has worked perfectly.

Davy, you really should take the time to understand, check, and then set up the SWR, as if its very high you will
destroy your CB, which would be silly really. Also, if you do take the time the CB will work far better than you realise,
in what it can receive...

Buggy's don't do well with most aerials as the metal bodywork (the ground plane) doesn't exist anymore, the
Sirio has made a huge difference in that it all actually works, it's specifically designed for fibreglass bodied vehicles, buggy's, boat's etc.

Whilst the CB is scanning as I drive to work, I have been surprised how many drivers of trucks and vans etc use them.

Best I can find. This has a coax type lead back to the cb
That's about the sum total of my knowledge on the subject

Thats it!  ;-)up

When you get a chance though, check things with an SWR meter, they arn't expensive
and it will be something else you have covered.

I spect there will be one in a buggy somewhere in Belgium so you can maybe
go through it there

It sounds like he has got too much power and speed now, causing them to bend too much  ;D ;D ;D

The Snow has now gone, and after the recent spurt of enthusiasm from the NEC show, I thought it was time to open the garage doors again, and I must confess that I have had another Britney moment with regards to wheels, tyres and late night eBaying

Oops . . I did it again !  ::)

Still, this time, I have managed to end up with a better set of 7 x 14`s for the front and have just had them shotblasted, powdercoated and diamond cut so that they now match my rears.

Just need to get the tyres back on now and get the Buggy out in the sunshine  :D

Looking amazing.

Hope to see them on your next tour of the Midlands.

Seems a shame to put tyres on those wheels and cover all that lovely red.  ;-)up

You could always put them in the lounge as a decoration, they look very nice.

Lovely. Have to get my wheels done one day

Is it okay to have powder coat where the tyres mate with the rim? Not criticising just wondering.

Absolutely - and its actually the reason why I went down the powdercoat route.

Old Slot mags seem to suffer from porosity, and seems to get worse with age. Not sure if thats a true fact or not, but certainly something I have noticed when trying to keep air in my tyres on these old rims. Powdercoating them seems to seal everything up quite nicely and for the ones I have now done, I have never noticed the slow leaks like I used to.

That's a question that stopped me getting mine done years ago
