Howdens insured it, I declared it mot exempt to get it taxed so I could go for a spin to prove all gears worked as the seller said the box had failed.
Test went fine now to raise the front as the tyre rubbed the wing on going over a bump and braking hard. But no need for motor out to change the gearbox and alternator as it started working just needs the front off for a bearing change. Time to book an mot and do the 7 mile trip to the garage.

Oh to see a yellow buggy bonnet heading down the open road is a glorious sight.

Top marks Snoopy.

Makes you wonder how many other buggys are left used to rot due to the wrong belief they have major issues.

After declaring mot exemption kango2 now has a full mot done to the book a full job so happy, we have advisory exhaust noisy and front discs pitted but they will clean up with use.
Down on the system as Volkswagen Kit car so happy days.
Drive there was cool and the manifold iced up as it was a frosty 2C with a clear blue sky so a nice 7 miles.
Now for tweaking time before sale.

'advisory exhaust noisy' - You said there was a new MOT tester so perhaps they have more sensitive ears ?

I too had a few cool 4 miles drive to the garage this morning and felt the engine liked the fresh cold air (?) but I was wary of the icy roads and the strong low morning sun. But always great to be rumbling along the road in a buggy...

Use has shown the inlet manifold icing up this weather with clear heat risers so this morning a 50mm stainless tube got fish mouthed after flattening to fit the pancake filter and edges turned out as a flange so it clamped in. This small bit of heat will hopefully cure the intermittent stuttering from low down on the open road. And easily removed for summer.
