Smart pans there Snoopy.

The weather or salt air (?) must be worse 'down south' for that rotor arm to be so corroded.

Just neglected Hugh. Anywhere in UK would do that to a car.

A V5 arrived for it so good news still down as a saloon which is it.
Pan now rolls and reassembly is under way, gearbox seems fine in 5 gears by hand but need the running engine to test it properly.

Buggy visitors arrived and forgot to finish this post

The engine long block was completed but needed the inlet manifold heat risers clearing out normally a bit of speedo inner cable pushed through some large windscreen wash tubing inserted into the pipe then spun up on the drill does this but I had to chop the tubes off to get a long 7mm drill to go through it was solid but repaired and on so stainless 4 into 1 time the left riser had been welded shut and r/h undrilled as some are supplied but there was no connecting pipe another task off the growing list.

So much for quality checks on parts😂

So a new clutch and replacement carb it should be ready to drop in for a gearbox test.

Well I shouldn't question a pronouncement from Snoopy but for me "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing" !

Hugh a little knowledge if used wisely is the starting point of a journey that can take you as far as you want to go up to specialist and beyond

Started inside today and found a bracket in the roof made from 2 or 3 hinges, think it had cables to release the rear roof toggles as the fixed high back bucket seats mean reaching inrmto the rear corners is near impossible

Rear toggles are modified

Got the hinges out and a welder got carried away. No idea why it hinged

Curious - definitely an after factory modification - but it looks like it still could do it's work/job.

You could have entered this in (your) last months photo competition...

After the Christmas holiday away and post cold weather with yet another trip or three out a replacement carb and clutch cover means motor is in. Then time to dig out rotten wood and trim the fibreglass and body filler to get some hardwood dash mounts bonded in.
The new rear light mounts cover the large holes so a result saving yet more fibreglass work.

Deeply impressive although I'm not remotely surprised by the resurrection.

2 Kanga's might start to breed...

Happy with the LED rear lights they are visible from wide angle unlike some where you loose sight of the illumination reducing the chance of tail end impact as you can see stopping and turning.
