I've had to do a seating plan for the pub for Saturday so tried to group people, I know we won't take offence as everyone gets along and we are all in the same area but it makes it easier for serving food. ;-)up

Obviously some rain about but mostly blustery and dramatic skies.

Keith's suggestion of a trip to the Food festival at Elvaston Castle was inspired - yes it wasn't a massively long cruise and we got seperated on the return journey as the heavens opened but the relaxed venue was entertaining enough to stop, eat, drink and check engines. Paul & Sue kindly gave me bespoke tour of the slightly neglected gardens around the faded grandeur of the ageing 'big house'. Oh to drive a buggy in and out of the yew hedges spaced to accomodate a buggy as well as to the numerous forgotten follies and 'eye catchers' in the sprawling grounds.

Thanks to all who braved the weather (Friday it never stopped raining from 8am) and the cruise culminated in a monsoon that flooded the roads and visibility went to very little.
Thanks to Vanessa, Allan, Gary H, DC and Paul for their input as well as everyone who donated prizes for the charity raffle.
Best say what happens in Ashbourne stays in Ashbourne and we now have more folks with buggies joining the crew.
A great weekend even if we had to do evening stuff inside a cow shed.

The 2024 version will be on 12-13 july as the barn needed booking for the non tent or campervan attendees
