I've managed to get a set but they have 5 cables to the plug and I can't find a wiring diagram or even how many amps they pull

Anyone fitted these can help, otherwise I'll have to rip Lynn's car apart to work it out, and that would be very dangerous

Dave are 4 of the colours

Yellow
Black
Brown
Blue

If so I may have a wiring diagram explaining it
You have two sets of elements one for back one for seat
Simple resistance test tell you which are the two wires for the heaters
If that makes sense
Apparently I'm having a mid-life crisis....Lasted 30 years thus far.

Post a photo anyway please but I have

Red/Blue
White
Blue
Red
Black

Configured
White.      Blue
                  Red/Blue

Red.          Black

I get reading across all pairs so need to make a note of readings tomorrow

Had a reply from Keith on Lynn's Facebook who's had a look at his,
Extra wires are sensor for seatbelt so I can just unplug them
Just send anything you've got please
Cheers

The red, blue and white go off to a smaller plug and come out the other side as very thin wires, so I guess they're seat belt sensor plus a commun earth

The backrest heaters fail where the wire goes behind a sprung cross strap but they are easy to join and put in front of the bar

Thanks David, really useful only I'll be using a relay per seat and switch the low power side. Only 7.5a fuses, I expected higher and confirms my suspicion that there's a thermostat in the seats

Just think yourself lucky that you are using Mazda ones and not BMW, as you will soon have to pay to switch them on  :o

Yes I saw that and was gobsmacked.
The price per month is ridiculous, more than a litre of petrol (at the moment)

News to me and.... would never buy a car with such restriction even tho I am sure someone will offer a software fix via obd port.  Guess then BMW would retaliate by saying that would invalidate warranty...  One sad sick world now. Next to no honesty or integrity left

And I guess this is where the new government rules / laws come into play regarding "anti tampering" . As far as I can see if it's 3 years or older , and it's mine ... I'll be calling a tech to programme that to work . They are almost as bad  as Tesla for subscribtion features .

Once again the whole "you'll own nothing and be happy" policy is kicking in further

Sorry for the post hijack

Sorry for the post hijack

Don't be sorry for posting, the more the merrier.
Original post gave me the information I needed so go ahead and keep posting

I suspect this all stems from building a single car type which is much cheaper for them rather than a range all slightly different with various options. That's behind the extra cost of colours. One car, either black or white, and then switch in gizmos to order must save them a fortune in tooling, programming and especially storage and showroom space.

I see a little cottage industry coming soon to defeat this, that will bite them where it hurts as they'll only ever sell the be ASIC model

That may explain why BMW indicators don't seem to work, you need to rent them ;D
