Hi All
I have upgraded my bug from 1300 to 1600 twin port my problem is I had the engine all chromed and the issue is the throttle cable comes throuh at an angle from the fan shroud, i have a twin choke webber fitted and the cable is under strain to the carb and does not give free movement, is there an attacment that can be added to the throttle arm that drops down so to give a stright pull movemnet and not under tension, if anyone has had an issue like this could you post a photo how to get over this.

You can drill another hole in the fan housing to suit.

I cut I triangular piece of steel plate and bolted it to the quadrant on the linkage to extend it backwards, this then enabled me to attach the pin for the cable connection facing the other way (towards the carb) , the triangular piece of plate just allowed the cable connector to move backwards and forwards without fouling on the spindle and linkage.   it then all lined up perfectly.

Can you weld onto yours or drill and tap it to fit the mounting.
