Lock down easing so hopefully all systems go for this weekend anymore interested in a buggy weekend.

I`m really interested and desperately want to come out and play   

However, I`m not putting my name down to anything just yet as it simply feels too premature considering we are still currently in a national lockdown

understandable Dave but looking forwards to it and if some restrictions hit again hopefully we can just have a quite caravan break away, further on we have already booked a trip to look around South Africa early in 2022.
cannot see the NEC show happening 11 th June but not cancelled yet, outside events with social distancing will hopefully survive from the start of July.

I'm being quite optimistic about this years Ashbourne camp, it went well last year and was only the first week sites were allowed to open after lockdown. Although this winters figures have been very grim, by July most people will have had their 1st vaccine and all over 50s should have had their 2nd. Hopefully the gradual lifting of lockdown won't see a surge in virus numbers and they will continue to fall. I remember last year how uplifting it was to meet up with friends after the 1st lockdown. I think for your own sanity you have to be optimistic whilst still being cautious and realistic. For now keep safe everybody and don't do anything to put yourself at risk.

Its a tough one as I am also very mindful of living smack in the middle of a tourist hotspot, and what happened last year during the holidays. The locals down here have also been locked up and would also like to go out cautiously into their own streets and shops, but the minute that dates are announced then everybody feels they must go on holiday, they need their holiday, and they have little or no respect for anyone else in the area they are traveling to. Last year saw a huge number of deaths in Torbay and a truly significant percentage of our population were wiped out by tourists bringing the virus with them. We cannot stay locked up forever, I get that, but the minute we are allowed out, I would first like to be able to go to my local shops to buy a pint of milk in safety, without having to clamber across the selfish non mask wearing tourists to get it. I have recently witnessed a few small groups of bikers traveling down to the seafront here, and whilst they would usually be met with open arms, the locals are now downright hostile towards any visitors and I would hate for that attitude to be shown towards our Buggies wherever we may end up. I am hearing the same from other tourist destinations across the country too. People are still scared, the majority of the denial covidiots out there are in an age group that will be the last to be vaccinated and we need to be a bit mindful and respectful of this when coming out to play. The tourism venues desperately need visitors and revenues to survive, but the people living in those areas also need a bit of time to adjust to being outside again before being swamped with outsiders, yet nobody seems to be prepared to give or allow them this time.

Cautious and realistic is a brilliant way to do things, but that does not mean everybody must party or go on holiday within the first few days.

I too cannot wait to meet up with everyone, it has been a very long time and I really do hope that the vaccine is the game changer we all hope it to be, but I also want the locals to be smiling and waving at us like they always did and not snarling with their burning pitchforks as we go past.

I can see exactly where you're coming from Dave and agree with everything you say, there are too many people that think the lifting of restrictions is green light to do what ever they want without respecting other peoples safety. The massive influx of holiday makers in tourist areas although welcome for the local economy must be a worry for the local population especially when a proportion of visitors pay little or no attention to the consequences of their actions. I personally have a few caravan holidays booked for this year but whilst away we will be keeping ourselves to ourselves, avoiding other holiday makers and being mindful and respectful for the locals and their home town. We have purposely booked caravans to be self contained and will be happy with coastal walks,the different scenery,avoiding busy areas and not really mixing with anyone else.
