Dynamo to alternator

Hi all.My mate has just acquired another engine for his buggy.Its a 1641 camper engine with a Weber progressive carb etc.It comes with an alternator which he would like to keep.How do we swap wires around from his dynamo to work with the alternator.Also engine comes with electronic ignition.A red and a black wire comes from the dissy do they both go to the coil.Thanks in advance.

alternator swap is simple dump the dynamo regulator and join the wires together three large ones then the two small ones for the warning light the two at the dynamo swap straight onto the alternator but may require a spade terminal fitted.
electronic ignition what make is it.

Hi Keith,thanks for that.So just that I have this correct join the three big wires together then the two little wires together.I think the electronic ian is a pertronix one.Will check for definite tomorrow.
