good evening - i've managed to pick up some tinware for my 1200 engine - it's a little bit worse for wear so have started the process of refurbishing - ive degreased and left overnight - i'll give them a buzz over with a wire wheel tomorrow - in terms of paint can anybody recommend anything to use - does it need to be vht paint ???....thanks in advance

Powder coat, Plastikote, Smooth Hammerite etc all work well, doesn't need to be vht.

The only piece that gets warm is where it screws to the cylinder head you can buy engine block paint in spray tins.

powder coating necessitates getting everything shot blasted first and takes it away from my control - if it doesn't have to be vht i'll look at plasticote which i can get from local car parts shop

cheers
