Well, after many many years of tinkering here, fixing there, and ultimately getting not very far, yesterday I reluctantly said goodbye to my Volksrod.

That is a shame Steve we were expecting it to turn up at one of the meets sometime, with you and the family sat in it grinning stupidly.

Been more of a saga than a story.  When my daughter started primary school I was working on it.  She did her GCSE's this year, I kid you not!

Well that is good news, so we will soon see a load of happy faces arriving at an event. Leeds to Manchester is not far for the hospital run

That's the plan.  We'll see how it behaves, considering the engine hasn't really done anything since 2002, and the whole car was put together by me!!   Many parts may fall off in the next few weeks 

Took Matthew for his first ride in my buggy. 

Dropped in at my mates house to try and get him motivated to get his Volksrod back on the road.......but he was out.

Been for a longer run out today.  Went to Ilkley and up past the Cow & Calf, got a good bit of noise out of the old motor up there, then went through the tunnel under the runway at Leeds & Bradford airport.  I'd forgotten how much fun tunnels are.  I must remenber to get onto the Leeds inner ring road soon as that's the best hunting ground for tunnels around these parts.

Swanage is too early.  Hopefully the first official outing will be supporting Pier Pressure. 

Been having a bit of bother selecting 1, 2, and R.  I initially put it down to the EMPI T shifter having a built in short shift, but I'm it got progressively worse yesterday, to the point where I was trying not to have to stop. (changing whilst moving was still OK)  I've re-greased the shifter ball and socket and adjusted the clutch cable a bit, but had no success.  If anything it's now worse, possibly due to not getting the lever back in correctly.   I'm not happy about the cable shortening 'thing' I've used.  I think it may be allowing the cable to slip.  So I think I'll get a new one and go back the loop and clamp method I used on my old GP

More importantly I have knocked up a whip/camera mounting plate, so I can now fly the white rose of Yorkshire, and bore everyone with dashcam style footage
