For those of you not on Facebook, Snorkel is back on the road.

What makes Snorkel special for me is that she is the Daddy to all sidewinders, the pre-mould made by Mel, and the Uber Rare Citation roof.  So if you remember 5 or 6 years ago, the last visit to the Childrens Hospital before she started pouring out oil:



What's been done:

- Indicators removed from the wings and all around Classic Mini ones added
- Wing mirrors removed from the body and put on the roof
- new Surfboard with a graphic design (Very important part this....)
- Roof lights have been changed to Notek Blue Dot Vintage lights, and wired up so they work
- Drop Spindles
- New front lights (Old ones were rusty to hell after been stood)
- New EMPI front seats
- Roll Hoop removed from inside
- New 3 point Harnesses in the front and new lap belts in the rear, all in grey
- Dash board stripped back and sprayed (By me, not brilliant but it's better than it was)
- Floorpan and Chassis cleaned and painted
- New Master brake cylinder and all around brake cylinders
- New Drums (All drilled to Chevy PCD)
- Cragar SS Wheels, 8 x 15 on the front, 10 x 15 on the rear
- Cooper Cobra new tyres all around 225 on the front and 295 on the rear
- New trim, white on the roof and blue on the body
- Engine has been stripped back, new dog house, tinwear, HT Leads, Fuel Pump, Stainless Overbraided Hose, New Flywheel Seal, new clutch, Carbs Cleaned, New CSP Carb Linkage
- New Gearbox Mounts, and a rear Gearbox Strap
- New CV Boots, and gearbox oil changed
- New Track rods and track rod ends
- New upper and lower ball joints
- New pressed reg plates
- New Billet rear centre brake light
- Body filled and resprayed
- 2 new flags, a Royal Signals one (my old regiment) and a Knights Templar (Because I liked it)

- I need to take her for a full wheel alignment which is this weekends job.

Fantastic!  Great to see it back on the road; still one of the best-looking buggies out there, that roof just makes it.

Yesterday I went for a ride out and remember the photo shot you did with my buggy near Glossop fire station ..... went past that place and to my amazement it still there!   They were great pics you took!
