Hi,I have those empi black cannon twin exhausts on my buggy it had them on when I got it and I noticed one was lower than the other, when I needed new ones I went for the same ones as they worked good and I new they would fit, these are exactly the same one lower than the other, type 3 1600 flat 4 engine, probably an inch or so lower and a bit further in ? Any ideas

Chassis twisted? Weak gearbox mounting? Checked body is lower on one side? What are you measuring against ?

The last ones I had were like that but I found that the tubing was thin enough so that when I gave the low muffler a good tug  upwards it bent into place and stayed there 

Tiawanese rubbish sure but they were cheap and did the job.

Hi weasel, i have the same issue but much less , empi chrome cannons needed a bit of flexing and pulling around before i could tighten things up , once they are bolted tight they will stand a bit of pulling about to even them out, rather than trying to move one side all the way , try tweaking each one a bit to level them up. 👍

Thanx,I'm just going by sight,from behind the passenger side pipe is nearer to the engine cage and higher,when I got them fitted I had them welded together,will they still bend ok,bit scary bending them I can imagine hearing a crack and snapping off at the manifold 😢 Probably best to try when the exhausts are hot with a thick pair of gloves on ye ? Hopeing it's not the first answer and my mountings aren't weak, thanx,if I can't fix it I know a man that can,it will be a week or 2 coz in middle of a respray but will let you know the answer.

Jaysons buggy is the same and i think its due the the type 3 Tinware that covers the right side cylinders having a raised pressing in it. The exhaust cannon sits on this bump and unlike the left handside tinware which is flat,  means the slight height difference.

Cannons usually sit further in on one side, due to the cylinders being offset.
