Sorry to hear this Dave, hope it all goes well.
If Ruben needs anywhere to pitch before the Carnival I should be able to sort something out.

Any space left on the pitch Flags? If so can iI have a spot for the Saturday night?
Cheers
Matt

Being a Swanage Virginia,  I gather the buggies get dressed up for the Sunday procession. What sort of stuff do I need? Haven't got any fancy dress either.
Who needs prozac when you can drive a buggy?

Don't need anything for the buggy unless you want to and the fancy dress is Disco if you want to.

Might have to do that Dave!

Is anybody else heading down on Friday afternoon?  I'll be leaving middayish from Peterborough area and heading down the A1. Then around the dreaded M25 before heading Southwest. Convoy anyone?

Leaving from near Jctn 10 of the A1 at around 9:30am, might be joining with Andrew Robinson near Jctn 9 of the M1

Though sadly, 2 days before the trip, I have a broken antennae on the drone remote so won't be taking that down (no way of repairing before then) Typical!  :'(

Buggers,

With regret, Lisa and I are going to have to pull out of this one as after seeing a consultant yesterday, they have decided on a second round of brain surgery next friday which now makes Swanage impossible for us to attend.
:'(

This does leave us with another problem though, and hoping someone out there can assist. Ruben, our Pancake eating mate from Holland was planning to come over for a few days (subject to getting his Buggy running properly) and looking for somewhere to crash for a day or two. If anyone has a spare bed / sofa for teh night, please send him a message so that he can work out if the trip is viable. We were hoping to have him here for a few days, but plans have gone out the window as I will now be stationed at the hospital for the next week or so.
sorry to read this, last time I was there 2015 in the rain I followed you there and next day you had to rush home again,i hope all goes well with the operation, good luck, Trev

I might be able to make that Gordon, just depends on whether I have to do anything for work in the morning. I won't know till the night before. I'll ping you a message Thursday evening. Baldock services meet point potentially?

Cruise route for Saturday.

All points are coordinates from google.  Easiest way to use them is to open google maps by pasting the start point into the google search engine then create a route by adding them 1 at a time.
Destination is the skate park car park in Dorchester so if you get split up you can meet us there.
Due to likely heavy traffic we will need to split into smaller groups than usual, meeting at points on route.

Start point - Days Park, Swanage.  50°37'09.4"N 1°57'36.0"W

Use middle route (A351) of the 3 choices on Google.

Small car park as you turn left at Corfe castle, use this just to collect your group. 50°38'29.0"N 2°03'32.7"W

All meet at the next stop for photos.

Car park above Tynham, where the wedding photos were being taken a couple of years ago.   50°37'49.1"N 2°09'33.9"W

Small car park at the entrance to Durdle door campsite, again just to collect troops.  50°37'40.4"N 2°16'04.5"W

Use bottom route (A352) all meet at next stop for a half of shandy.

Trumpet Major Pub car park,  50°42'32.3"N 2°25'21.6"W

All cruise into town.

Skate park car park.  50°42'34.1"N 2°26'25.7"W

The end point is opposite Brewery Square where there are plenty of places to eat, Maumbury Rings for a bit of culture or the town is a 5 minute walk.

Route back will be via the A352 to Wareham then the A351 to Swanage.  I have to take a detour on the way back to pick up a cake for Saturday night so would appreciate someone with a satnav taking the lead.

Total distance each way is about 30 miles and ready to depart at around 1100 so can you please ensure you have enough fuel before we leave.

Flags are these coordinates from the same source of the Germany trip ones? If so I'll keep a look out for stray buggies in Southampton
