Well for this coming year I have changed from A-plan to another provider. Renewal is due this coming week and premium had gone up to £168 so market tested (first time I have done looked elsewhere in 3 years) and got the exact same cover* quoted for £115. Done deal.

*same excess, mileage, agreed value, confirmation of Dream Rides cover with Sporting Bears, plus with legal cover.

I think the message is to try them all (or at least three).

We could do with an easy-to find list of all buggy friendly companies somewhere at the top of the site, locked so that it doesn't get to be like a vzi 'which oil' thread.

I'll see if I get a chance later, what do you think?

Do you mean like the one at the start of this thread ?    ::)

Oh, that one, 5 pages back?  ;-)up I'll try to update it later as there are a few missing. Not that anyone looks at it, folks still ask 'which insurance?' a question to which there is no real answer... :o

There, I added a couple and edited the start of this thread a bit but I do think it could be made easier to find, maybe as its own section in 'help zone'?

There is a reason behind not wanting to do that because of one of our site sponsors   ;)

Not sure how often you are checking your emails back? I directly replied to Tom's email with my photos on Monday morning but since I hadn't had any reply to that (or my follow up the next day) by Wednesday, as it was getting close to renewal, I thought I better check others. They could then offer the same exact cover but nearly £70 less and then when I called your office myself (having still not heard anything) and there was no movement on the premium cost, I decided I would change ship.

But yes of course will get you to quote next year. After all I'm the one that introduced A-Plan to the buggies here those years ago.  ;-)up

Andy I can only apologise to the delay in getting back to you.

I have given the boys a good kick and made a few changes on how the emails are handled, with the new measures in place it won't happen again.  ;-)

Is Volksworld Insurance still going??

Also what's the difference between Adrian Flux and Flux Direct? Are they different?

Well here's my findings on the recommended insurers at the start of this thread, whether it's any use to anyone I don't know.

A-Plan - gave a reasonable price this year
Flux Direct - £40 cheaper than A-Plan (also, easy renewal with Agreed Valuation already sorted)
HIC - same company as Adrian Flux/Flux Direct
All Styles - twice what I was quoted by A-Plan/Flux
Volksworld Insurance - do they even still exist? same as HIC/Flux anyway
2gether Insurance - need to be over 30years old
Lancaster Insurance - wouldn't give a quote as doesn't perfectly match DVLA records

So it looks as though I'm sticking with Flux. Although I may also add Classic Line Insurance to the list as they have looked after me in the past but when calling the above- only 3 out of the 7 insurers would even take my details so it might not be worth it.

Thats a good comparison Hazel    ;-)up

I know that you have issues partially because of your young age, but rest assured, I also have problems insuring my fleet here too as my current Motor Trade Policy (Zenith) no longer covers Motorcycles / Kit Cars or American vehicles, and I now have to insure them all separately, some of them through the same underwriter.

At this rate I'm going to be young forever.

Just for completions sake, I got a quote with Classic Line. Twice the price of my flux renewal this year but they have been good to me in the past and I believe they used to give discounts to Beach Buggy Club members so maybe worth adding to the list on the original post??
