Believe or not Sue can't remember it, so I had to ask her elder brother and you can't imagine how much I was hoping & praying that he was going to say Orange but he seems to think it was metal flake or maybe metallic Blue.

Newbie Welcome Area / Re: All new here
March 18, 2024, 05:56:30 PM
Hi Royston and welcome to the world of Beach Buggies, I recognised the reg number of your Buggy, Back in the 70s the original 1st owner lived next door to my wife when she was a child living with her parents in Sawley Derbyshire. The first black and white photo is from back then and is how it looked when first built. The colour photos are probably about 10 years ago when it was owned by someone on the Isle of White.

Nice one Snoopy, I too saw this on ebay and thought that however bad it was under the body it would still be a good buy due to the V5 description and what looked like a body in reasonably good condition. Another buggy you are saving from that black hole where buggies go to die

Hi Steve, The rebuild is coming on now and looking very good. That Predator body looks like it may have been made by Mel Hubbard, it's absolutely 100% identical to mine, right down to the black flow coat on the underside, the opening bonnet even the colour is identical to mine. If it is a Mel Hubbard one the shell will have been made about 20 or 21 years ago.

Beach Buggy Engine and Exhaust Help / Re: Oil filter types
May 31, 2023, 10:10:09 PMQuote from: HUDGE BUGGY on May 26, 2023, 02:08:22 PM
The Fram is that crap you are just better with the standard wire gauze in the sump IMHO but you can see for yourself on youtube
Alot of pennies for cardboard
Hi Hudge how you doing hope you're good ? I know you and many others have a big downer on the Fram filters but that cardboard filter catchers 94% at 20 microns and has a higher flow than any other filter on the market 10 to 18 gal p/min, the internal cardboard/paper filter is rated at a max of 200 psi, the wix 51515 is rated at 21 microns and a flow rate of 7 to 9 gal p/min. Lets face it when you first start up from cold the internal bypass in the filter will probably open and let all sorts through anyway. If you do manage to blow that paper interior apart in the fram HP1, I would suggest you already have a problem with your engine, like too large an oil pump, - restricted oil flow through the galleries or oil cooler , faulty oil pressure relief valve, or on a duel relief case the 2nd oil relief valve is not opening to bypass the the oil cooler when the engine is cold and the oil is thick or maybe even a combination of these.
Don't confuse the HP1 racing filter with the standard crap filters that Fram make, The racing filter is made to a different spec. I know i'm not going to change your mind and wouldn't want to, everyone has their preference for make and spec of parts they use, just like some people swear by Bosch spark plugs others NGK and I like AC Delco plugs that were made in the 70's.
No criticisms of anyone just my 10 penneth of thoughts

Some nice straight line ups there. Someone managed to herd the buggy owners into order.
All drivers managed to park up properly without the aid of any outside assistance, they were all perfectly spaced and level. Just shows what the East Midlands crew can do without the interference of the riff-raff from other areas

A big thanks to Mark Darby for organizing the East Midlands Buggy Club stand at the Classic Wheels show Rutland show ground . 24 buggies in attendance and we also won the trophy for the best club stand. Another thanks to Mark for the East Midlands Buggy club zip buddy's and to Myles for the East Midland buggy club pin badges.

Dave Up for buying something at the pub Sat lunch.
Shaggy and Mrs Shaggy. *Up for buying something at the pub Sat lunch*
Krug & Mandy - Guest appearance tba
Cruise sorted, different pub found and arranged but according to the list above only 5 people willing to use the pub. No idea how many others are coming via Facebook. Can I have a commitment to use the pub as I can't ask him to give us space and buy in stuff for sandwiches and then only a few use the place.
Can anyone find out how many are coming from Facebook and ask the same question as I need to know how many to cater for.
If everyone can be fuelled up ready to leave at 10:45 that would be great. There's no fuel on the route. After the pub we'll move on to the reservoir, reasonable parking and proved popular last time. 3 ways back from there, main A roads, the route we used last year, or a longer route through the countryside, see how people feel on the day.
See you Saturday and a prompt response would be really helpful
Dave
