I had thought about glass beads but wasn't sure of their aggressiveness ? Do you use them for general purpose stripping/cleaning? And finally what size would you recommend please?

Hi all,
I'd like to clean up some rusty and corroded parts and having not done it before wondered what would be a good general purpose media to use in a blasting cabinet. I'm thinking that after cleaning they would then be painted or have some sort of protective coating applied. There are quite a number of different products with different applications so any advise would be much appreciated

Because I've had that manx one for ages, thinking I might swap it over at some point, I thought I would ask the question now whilst I'm in the throws of a rebuild and you've given me something to think about

Are the screens pretty much unique to each shell, even though they look similar?
Whilst having my tea, I remembered that in the past when I've taken the original bonnet off, the dashboard stays put so no disconnecting speedo and electrics etc. Not so I guess with the Manx hood?
Is the dashboard separate on a mk1 gp bonnet, with metal windscreen, do you know

I reckon I've had this bonnet for must be nigh on 20 years and I'm sure my thinking at the time was I could fit that on my buggy. I've got, as you may or may not know from my recent posts, a lwb mk2 gp shell which has the fibre glass windscreen surround, which I don't dislike but the Manx bonnet takes the metal surround that I quite like the idea of.
Have any of you done this conversion or know if it's possible?

I would quite like to re do the dash minimalist and this one has been chopped about a bit.
Do any of you know if it's possible to get this style? It's a GP mk2
I've seen one made to order on EBay for a Manx i think, but it's not quite the same and i do like the design of my current one

The above pics are my much loved buggy that has been off the road for twelve ish years. It's been stored in a farm building and I've regularly turned the engine over to keep it free.
I've been saying for to long "I'll get it back on the road next year". This buggy has given me so many good happy memories in the past, and just uncovering it, has put a huge smile on my face.
No more next years, this is the year
The chassis pictured is new to me and the rest just as I left it all those years ago. It needs work for sure but hopefully not to much
I'll try and remember to document my re build but I'm a shocker for forgetting to take pics as i go.

OK, possibly entering into a grey area here, but I had the same issue on mine where the VIN is quite difficult to make out due to the amount of paint and rust that has been applied over the years. It can be seen, but it is certainly not easy to read.

I bought a blank chassis plate and stamped it with the number and then attached it elsewhere in the vehicle with pop rivets - following the rules regarding chassis plates that says they are not allowed to be removed with hand tools. My mot guy initially checked that this also matched the correct number as stamped in the chassis and each year thanks me for making it easier for him to check at mot time.

Ha ha I do like the idea of formerly known as. The name redbug72 is as simple as the buggy being red and 1972, of course it's not the end of the world just me being precious.
