Due to me being forced out of one of my storage containers Im putting two of my vehicles up for sale & whichever one goes first.....goes......
Dont particularly want to sell my Buggy but as I bought a Baja Cabriolet a few months ago.......I can let go.
I bought the Buggy as a complete running & driving car but took some of it apart to get it right.
The vile seats that were in it I removed & had a pair of Buggy seats & Fat Biscuit covers made my East Coast Manx.
These are not fitted though, they are currently on top of my wardrobe.
The dash is out as I had it restored to original spec & resprayed satin black.
The screen & bonnet also came off so I could replace the leaky fuel tank with a good pre-67 one.
I then got side tracked & its been in storage for the last 4 maybe 5 years ?
The Buggy as a whole is a good one.
Candy orangy copper paint obviously done a few years ago.
Shortened 66 pan, again obviously done quite a while ago.
1200 Engine which runs fine.
Rear buggy engine cage.
Early twin cannons with removable baffles.
Original rear engine lid is present.
Early speedo & fuel gauge.
Grant steering wheel.
Original Volksrod rear seat.
Wide 5 Banded & Reinforced wheels.
New Cooper Cobra 275's on the rear.
New vinyl roof.
Very original un-messed around with Buggy.

Correctly Registered as a Volkswagen Convertable.
1966 on a D Reg.
RHD.
Vin No re-issued by DVLA back in the day & starts with "SABTVR".
Ran & drove fine before I took part of it apart which was only because I aquired some storage & well.........
You know how it is........
V5c in my name.
Currently Registered as MOT & Tax exempt.
Realistically you could get this back together, running & driving in a weekend.
Once im officially out from my storage I have nowhere to park the buggy other than on the street round the corner from where I live in London, so really cant see the point in even bothering to do so.

Im putting an Empi Eliminator shifter into my 66 Ghia.
Meaning that my std Ghia shifter can come out & go into my 66 Buggy.
The Ghia shifter is as slim as an early beetle shifter, but has a nice angle to it.

I tried to have a measure up but its just not possible at the mo.
The roll bar is out, the bonnet is off, the screen is off, the dash is out, etc etc........
So I cant really get any accurate measurements right now ?
Dont suppose anyone on here has the measurements from the base of the screen to the rear of the back seat & the top of the screen to the roll bar for a SWB Mk3 Volksrod do they ??
Plus.....although I really like the wide wraparound rear opening of the traditional Manx style hardtop, I'm kinda liking the 70's fluted rear screen louvre that the hardtops seem to be running in your pics.
Are they something you sell or are they a particular one for a particular car, like the ones Autoplas used to sell ?
I'm gona try to dig out my screen from my other garage in the next few days.
I'll measure it & post up some pics of the surround to see if it can by used with one of your hardtops.

Hi everyone.
Ive got a SWB Mk3 Volksrod.
I was wondering if anyone knows if there is somebody out there making / selling Hardtops for the SWB Volksrod ?
Or does anyone know if there is a Hardtop currently made that fits the SWB Volksrod ?
Like the ones that Flatlands or East Coast Manx make for the Manx.

Pair of Bucket seats removed from my Beach Buggy.
Car lived in the previous owners garage & saw little use.
So these seats are still in "as new" condition.
These are solid fixed backrest seats (so they don't recline).
These also come without runners, so you'll have to supply / adapt your own.
They were screwed.........yes you read that right...........screwed to the floor of the Buggy.
Mmmmmmmm...........health & safety huh !!!
They are incredibly comfy & supportive, but ive gone for traditional low back Buckets instead.

Dimensions are.........
Base width 20".
Base length 22".
Back rest width 19".
Shoulder wings width 22".
Back rest height 34".

The first pic makes them look overly shiny.
They are not.
Second pic shows how they are close up.

Soooooooooooo.....................
After a quick drive of "The Death Trap" I found out what the word BODGE really means.

Steering wheel mounting nut finger tight.
Steering wheel to Boss bolts, 2 finger tight & 1 fell out & rattling around in the horn push.
Brake pedal to the floor.
All seatbelt mountings finger tight.
Insulating tape wrapped around leaking fuel hose.
Fuel filter stuck.....yes stuck.....to one of the exhaust heat risers.
One top bolt missing from the engine & one bottom bolt wound half way out.
The big bucket seats were screwed.......YES SCREWED...... to the floor & were all loose, with one screw missing.

Oh the list of bodges goes on & on & on............
It has an MOT too !!!! Hahahahaha !!!!!

Anyway.
Im tearing it apart & making it safe so no worries 

So.
The seats are out & i'm replacing them with traditional low back buckets (see below, yes the covers are coming).



Question is.
Whats the best way to fix these to the floor ?
I was told to use the original seat runners.
Being a 66 floor pan the runners are the "skinny" type & I cant locate any early seats to cut the bottom of the frames out.
I assume thats what was meant ?
Flatlands sell Wedges to angle the seats & also do Runners.
But these are very expensive.
Do you really need to angle these seats ?
I was gonna just bolt them to some box section, as im 6'2" so need lots of room.
Any other ideas
