Hull Ferry buggies are we getting the overnight ferry on the Thursday night arriving in Rotterdam on the Friday morning , then coming back on the Monday night arriving on Tuesday morning. I thought it was DFDS we went with the last time but can only see P & O after briefly looking

In the diary will confirm once I know what my shifts and holidays are looking like

My only thought or suggesting would be to move the time an hour back as it means we would get to Hull with hopefully plenty of time to chill and relax.
I might even leave in the morning myself just to make sure i get down there in plenty of time , google maps says 4 and half hours. But as chad says that is assuming you are driving a modern car that can cruise at 70 which although my buggy can do that
Would not want to do that the whole way down as the engine would probable not make it as it would be screaming all the way there , then taking into accounts any stops as there would be a few as will need a few lol

Well I generally would rather been there earlier using the 'just in case' rule so happy with people's thoughts on this , if you are aiming for say 5 for Ferrybridge services I may aim for slightly earlier. Hate having to rush for things after all it is meant to be a holiday so all about relaxing and enjoying the trip

Arran I think it still waiting to confirm his holidays so I have not really thought of a time yet to set off. According to google using the A1 it is saying it is saying 4.19 hours so probable looking at say 4.30 hours roughly.

I tried to work it out so I think there is something like maybe 15 or 16 buggies in the southern group , then think it is 5 confirmed for the northern group. But if Arran confirms that could be 6 from the northern group so yeh could be looking at 20 - 22 buggies going in total. really looking forward to it , enjoyed meeting up with you last year then a wee cruise through Edinburgh

Think that was 5 maybe so with 20 - 22 buggies that is just going to look awesome I think

Just posted in the northern group but that is the ferry booked up , got confirmation from my work for the holidays I had put it which have been approved.

Got a confirmation email from Christian for the ticket so I am good to go , so would be good if you could come along Arran have some company on the way down to Hull

yeh I happen to find what I thought was yours after seeing a pic of it in situ , looks like just the ticket

like you say not really looking for anything that is all singing all dancing not as if I will be needing to talk the space station or anything. thinking would only really use it for coming to any meets. so be lucky if it would get used 2 or 3 times a year

so partly not wanting to spend a lot of money for that reason , just looking for something that means I can join in any cruises whether it be in the uk/abroad. these days I would rather buy products that are recommended by people rather than buying it to find out it is not doing what I had intended it for.

like the fact it is small does not have many buttons so as long as it means I can join in that could well be along with the groundless antenna the perfect setup. looked at the price on one cb website only 60 quid so yeh that could well be a winner with the right setup

Thanks for the replies interesting in what you guys have said , I have had a look on a few sites now came across this which on the face of it looks like the kind of thing I am looking for http://www.thunderpole.co.uk/cb-radio-packs/thunderpole-cb-radio-off-roader-pack.html. This comes with everything I would need. Although I have an old cb not sure how good it is. So ideally instead of buying what I need all separately would be good if I could buy it all together

However after doing some reading plus trying to remember when I did have cb's back in my younger days the grounding of the aerial does have to be considered. Obviously the shell is fibre glass so straight away that would make having a cb a bit more difficult. Choices

1. Use a body mount means drilling into the shell which since I have a softtop so not really keen on drilling any more holes in it. Another thought was whether the fibreglass would crack around the hole if the aerial is too flexible.

2. Alternative position I am thinking would be on the engine cage at the back which also means that if I never really use it a lot the one advantage is I could take it all off without having to repair any holes

Would be cool to also have an aerial as a purely personal view a whip aerial of some sort I think can add to the coolness of the buggy. Peter I do like your cb looks like it is a nice small compact cb

Hi guys

Assuming i get my ferry booked in the next week or so i am travelling from Edinburgh i know of one other buggy that is also thinking about going.

Looking at google maps i am travelling from Edinburgh it says it will take me around 5 and half hours , so thinking in my head if the time for departure is 20:30. If i leave around midday that should give me enough time although i may well leave earlier being my first IBW want to make sure i meet up with everyone 

I was just going to come down towards Hull using the A1 as it looks like a pretty straight road , hope that helps in trying to organise people for Hull
