Thinking of selling my Rat beach buggy.
This buggy is well known in the scene, may possibly sell just the engine if anyone is interested.
Registered May 1967 correctly as a beach buggy, Its got many custom features.

2054 engine built from a new case, fully oil flowed with catch tank.
fk8 cam with straight cut gears
weber 44 carbs with link sys carb mech
Heads ported and worked on by the legend John Mayer, one of the last sets he did before retiring.
Manifolds welded and mach ported to heads
Teflon race fuel lines
Full custon Stainless exhaust
Rolling road tested at 125BHP at the wheels and 151 ft/lb of torque.
Revs to over 6k but will happily cruse at 50mph in top gear, its a very drivable engine that has been to many IBW events

Other Custom bits include
Full roll cage designed and built by Cotsweld Racing this has been carefully designed to shorten the over look of the buggy
Race pedal box with hydrolic clutch
Rear bucket seats fibre glassed into rear shell and all upholstered in marine vinyl.
Rear lights frenched into body
Custom opening bonett
full re wire by Chad
Orignial 1970 slotmag wheel diamond polished
BugTech custom gear shifter
full re spray in orignal 1970's metal flake.

After 2 long years the buggy is back with me. Massive thanks you jools who not only has been looking after it while I renovate a house, but he's also repainted it 

I Have the posi flow pump and malpassi filter, been great
one thing, make sure you put the pump close to the tank as pumps push fuel not pull it

Not sure snoopy, as I have the cable link sync linkage.
When it's ideling high I've checked the link of the stops and they're bang on.

Could it need the idle screw adjusting now I've cleaned and sorted the carbs??
And can I just adjust this or will it throw something else out, like mixture etc??

Returned from ace cafe run and the buggy ran great apart from one slight annoying traight

When warm the engine idles at around 2000 rpm

It pulls well and performs as expected just idles high
Carbs are all on there stops linkage is fine
I think this started happening after taking off the carbs and giving them a good clean. Could now they are clean be the issue??
Twin 44s so no choke so not that

Ideas?

I have discs all round and run 2psi rvp's the peddle feel much better with them fitted

would love to do it huge, but its a bloody long way...

My alternator did this, even with chads new super dooper wiring, that was a 1 year old alternator. Swapped it out and it solved the problem

I think this might be your alternator. I got a new one for 130 which comes from the same factory as Bosch just without the name

Picked up a new screen today, a nice shiny one to replace my rather battered one

Theres still a bit of messing about to do as the ordinal holes don't line up and there about a 20mm gap any the bottom. Not sure whether to infiltrate with a piece of polished aluminium or a rubber seal yet
