What are your wheel and tyre sizes? If you don't mind me asking! Looks great by the way!

Cheers, don't mind at all.

Fronts are 6" with 205/60 and the rears and 9.5" with 275/60.

Wheels started out as 4.5 GT steels, banded by Banded Wheels Essex.

Thanks. I think it's the angle of the photo that makes the filter look lower than it actually is. It's no lower than a deep sump, but thanks for the link.

Like Gary, I'm local - in South Woodham Ferrers (between Chelmsford & Southend) - and you would be more than welcome to use my tools/garage if needed.

Added some new axle gaitors while the engine was out.

Engine was all ready for collection the week before the August Bank Holiday, but unfortunately I ended up in hospital and was unable to collect  :(

It's back in my garage now though, just waiting on my recovery so that I can get it installed.  ;-)up

Took the tin ware to the powder coaters yesterday morning, and then removed the current engine in the afternoon.

Haven't been on here for a while, so thought I'd do a quick update on the progress of the engine.

Paul Miller at Harry Harpic's & Son Ltd is taking care of things for me.

This was Paul's workbench about a month back with the case just back from Stateside with a fresh align bore.

The bottom end has now been balanced and re-assembled and I've been busy trying to get all the other parts together.

Hope to get back down there at some point this week to catch up with progress.

I had my renewal through from Allstyles/T R Youngs last week, and to be honest it hadn't gone up.

However after reading all the good feedback on here I decided to give A-Plan a call, as I had used them previously for my Subaru.

Spoke with a very helpful guy by the name of Mathew (01635 874 646) and after a few minutes I had saved myself around 20 quid  ;-)up

Very pleased with the service and will be giving them a call when the Scoobs policy is up later this year.  8)

Thought it was about time for an update...

Had the buggy out at Elemental a few weekends back - good to catch up with people.

Since then I have stripped down the 1600 twin port engine which will eventually replace the original 1200.

Got the parts all loaded up and then headed off to see Paul Miller at Harry Harpics.

Since hearing Gary's sidewinder at Elemental I can't wait to get mine on to the rebuilt engine - won't be too long now!  ;-)up
