Title: Hi from Volksrod
Post by: volksrod on April 10, 2013, 08:06:27 AM
Hi Stuart from volksrod here, trying to catch up with the 21st century. We're still here in Leicestershire making new bodies, restoring older buggies and T25s. Always pleased to give help and advice and often have buggies and parts available.

Hi Stuart - good to see you here.

Its not just Buggy owners on here, there are a lot of potential customers for you too, so make sure you make the most of it and drum up some business where you can.

;)

Hi Stuart, welcome to the new boards and your 1st question  :)
I am just building up a chassis, its been cut for a sidewinder/prowler/predator I.e. 78.75 inches, but just looking at my options. am I right in saying that volksrods are based on a 80/81 inch chassis still? Is there any way round this, or is it no go?

Thanks for the welcome guys.

And to Russ, you're right to say we're 80" wheelbase. Nothings impossible in the buggy world, flanges can be extended but your front wheels will sit a little further back. Also the rear corners kick in at the back so that's another mod to do. Do have a good manta ray body for sale :)

OK, thanks, like I said just checking all options. I think I'd rather go for a new shell, in which case I would not want to be making major alterations to body or pan.
Its hard enough trying to find the time to get things done as it is without adding to the to do  list :)

The floor pan and running gear which was mine before a while ago will be going under a MK2 volksrod, which will fit better, the body is for sale and I think the engine is already sold
