Title: AGK 746G - please help me trace this bug!!
Post by: littlep67 on September 13, 2015, 09:16:54 PM
HI, this is a real stab in the dark but it came to light last night that my late dad's beetle, that I thought had been scrapped, is still living. but I don't know where (or much else).
This was our main family car from when I was 3 until my dad had a stroke and passed it to my brother. The whole family was and still are dub mad and this would mean so much to myself, my brother and my nearly 80 year old mum to just find out where it is and see some photos over the years.
All I know is the following:

Reg number: AGK 746G
Reg : Sept 1969
1500 Beetle.
Was Savanna Beige

Now listed as SORN with MOT expired July 2014

Listed with DVLA as Beetle (4x4 Utility) - have been advised that may mean it is now a buggy. But if anyone knows different please shout

Colour - Yellow

I don't have any more info apart from originated from Finchley, North London, but prob is not in that area anymore. Last used by us in about 1986 ish, or around mid to late 80s. Not exactly sure.
Have shares amongst various Facebook Beetle and other VW groups as I'm a member of Dunstable and WGC Dubbers.
If anyone has any info, ideas or even suggestions where else to try. This would just bring back some big smiles and memories of a lovely dad who is no longer with us.
Thanks
Paula

Hi Paula, glad you made it on here. I have just edited the title with the reg in it so hopefully if the owner is on here it might stand out more.

Good luck with the search!

Hi Paula.

Can you post any snaps of this yellow (great colour) VW, however old or odd, as that may further engage readers interests. There's bit about Photobucket in the 'Newbie' area.

I don't recognise the buggy but looks like Dave Dnd may be able to help more as its south west area buggy club. Though a lot of those boys aren't on the net. Oh it's a mark 2 short wheel base GP by the way.

I`ll put a shout out down here   ;-)up

Sawmill Jim and GBHgpJon may also be worth chatting with too as they have been on the South West scene far longer than I have

Looks like the one owned by cheeky monkey off the old forum but I cannot remember his proper name, he also had a GP mk1 with a full cage in that got broken I think as I seen the cage in a sandy coloured buggy at Stoneleigh.
As said Billy bob is a good starting point.

I messaged Billybob but haven't had an answer yet. Bit new to this so any help would be great.
Thanks so far, you've all been so helpful. I didn't think I would get this far
