Ok I know it must have been the buggy to make the mold but when some one makes a new buggy design and it's all rounded and curves and swerves how the hell do they make the first one to make a mold from? What do you use?
Chad's Doon buggy design and build is what you need to read it was in vw ultra mag a bit ago but must be on the web somewhere. No doubt Chad will point you in the right direction.
Thanx, I don't want to make one I'm just wondering how it's done, I will look for chads doon and see what I find.
The original shape is just a "buck"
This can be made of virtually anything that will hold the shape while the mould is being made.
I like to use wooden skeleton and then flesh it out with foam - easy to create a symmetrical shape.
Over this you can skin it with plaster or body filler .
