Title: short steering rod
Post by: Jazzy Early on November 10, 2013, 10:59:21 AM
Hey all. I am looking for a replacement short steering rod for my "67 chassis. As long as it is straight, I am happy.

No matter what I do, I cannot get the track rod end out of the one I have here. Hit it, plus gas, WD40 and the blow torch (red hot and still would not budge). Cheers

Interesting, I will see how Child of the 70's get on with the hunting first. I want to spray mine the same colour as the body, but shiny might be an alternative...!!

Got one.
Not sure if they are different from year to year?
But it's just over 19cm long. And as best as I can measure its 1.5cm internal diameter.

It's got clamps on each end. And one track rod in still in. Can't remember where I got it. Just one of those things I stockpiled !

Yours if you want it bud. No charge of course.

Will need the standard wire brush treatment. :-)

Got your email.
Don't be daft I don't want any payment for postage.
Just chuck a few coins in a charity tin at some point.

Should able to post it on Wednesday if that's ok?
