Hi guy's and gals!
I'm Ian, just joined today.
Own a Mk1 SWB GP, built on a 57 pan, with 57 drums all round. :-\ which I have had since the middle of 1999. Got 'Bast'd' back on the road in 2007. I was only planning on doing a simple re-build on him, but you know how these things go!
I think he will be getting stripped back down again at the end of the year!
I also have a 69 Westy.

Oh, can any of you experts cast any light on the bonnet?
It has never had the recess for the GP/VW badge, there is no evidence of it being ever filled in either. Also the reg plate recess looks a little different!
Cheers!
hello another one where they all been hiding lol, nice one dude . 8)

Im not sure what you mean Ian. From the pic it looks like your bonnet has a a round recess at the front. Like mine.
the early GP shell was copied/cloned by quite a few manufacturers in the buggy boom years so not all GP's may be GP' moulded. You have a nice period buggy there.
